WindSeeker acting peculiarly?

Featured Replies

Anyone notice something different about WindSeeker today? I observed several times from a distance that the ride slowly stopped rotating once at maximum elevation. After a few minutes, the ride then descended very slowly. Exiting riders appeared uncomfortable.

I guess Haunt wasn't completely cancelled this year. And at 300 feet up, riders can be scared without violating social distancing

I thought it was odd seeing WindSeeker at the top and not spinning around noon, but we weren't in the park yet so I didn't get to see if people were on it.  We rode it a few hours later and don't remember anything else odd about it then.

I rode it at 4:02 and got stuck on it for a bit. It was an interesting experience. The ride would raise vertically, and rotate normally, but when it came time to descend, it just stopped rotating on cue.    Everyone on the ride thought KI’s staff did an exceptional job dealing with the situation.

In all, the ride is built to deal with these situations, so there’s nothing to be concerned about.

The ride ran test cycles all day today, with water dummies in every other row.

It tested for the entire day.

Hilarious to me they were actual 'dummies". It was very cold and a bit wet early today. I was at the top of Banshee line and saw WindSeeker running. It looked every-other-full, and I was thinking, "nope, not today". I never got close enough to realize they were just testing.

That’s.... what I said?

I like to say that this is WindSeeker's taking its first fall without Vortex extra hard. After all, WindSeeker was paired with Vortex from its debut all the way through last year.

Also, I was one of the lucky ones. It was cold, but the view was excellent. :)
