Coronavirus Impacting Theme Parks

I am getting my first dose today.  I am not excited about it and will not post the typical card and bicep pose.

I wish the Johnson and Johnson vaccine had been rolled out sooner.  I'd be much more excited about it.

Masks are required at the parks right now. We have hashed out your argument multiple times and there is no need to do it again. At this point in time, if you don't want to wear a mask and think t

It is really quite simple: If you do not want to wear a mask at a place of business that requires a mask, don't go. Please understand though- DO NOT cause a scene because an employee has asked yo

I will get my first shot as soon as i can.  Feb 1st soonest.

I will too! I have no idea when that will be though.

I probably have quiiite a while to wait. I'm 20 with no conditions that make me more vulnerable and do not work in healthcare. I can't lie, I'm a little jealous seeing you guys get your vaccines!

We're going back at the end of Feb.  I hear they've increased capacity- is that right?

There are reports that park capacity has been increased to 40% with the reintro of park hopping (you can park hop again, but can't enter a new park until 2 give or take a few mins, assuming the park has capacity. You don't need a reservation for any park after the first, but do need to check the app to make sure there's capacity (most of the time, yes)).  Disney hasn't said officially whether capacity has been upped.

First statement of the year from Knotts... Extending their passes into 2022 for every day they are closed in 2021. I wonder if they'll open at all this year. Awful.

Knotts has had such awful luck. They finally opened for their Christmas event and then had to close 2 days later, and now they're still closed. Such a shame.

That’s the rumor, but for February? It’s not going to busy regardless.

This is all so terrible. I cannot wait to get back into the park! I am hoping to get the whole family together soon to visit. :P

Another park falls victim to COVID, Conneaut Lake Park is filing for Bankruptcy.

RIP I never got to go but it looked like a fun park, I really hope someone can pull a Gene Staples and save this park

This is terrible news to wake up to.  I had nothing but a great time when I visited the park and it was so unique.  Pre-Covid it was doing so well.

That is fake news or a clickbait headline. The park is already in bankrupcty and filed years ago. They have a buyer interested in buying the park but due to said bankruptcy that has already taken place they have to go through the court and accept other bids. It is still bad news because someone could buy it and build condos. https://www.facebook.com/newconneautlakepark

Looks like Disney will be keeping mask and social distancing protocols in place for the remainder of 2021, though they’re hoping to be able to drop them by 2022.

I was still able to visit 4 new parks last year and have plans to do the same this year. It seems like if states let parks open that people are still going

Six Flags Magic Mountain is announcing that they’re planning on reopening with rides running this spring. Maybe they know something we don’t about California easing restrictions to allow parks to open?

California is finally allowing amusement parks to reopen on April 1st. There are severe capacity limitations and only California residents will be allowed to attend, but it’s a step in the right direction. :)

And Dewine is hopeful that by independence day, the indians can have full stadiums. If all holds true, we should be able to have a somewhat normal mid summer/fall/hopefully winter season. Remember, it depends on vaccines.

And also Dewine is looking at dropping all restrictions when we drop below 50 cases per 100,000 for two weeks: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wkyc.com/amp/article/news/health/coronavirus/ohio-governor-mike-dewine-covid-19-press-conference-mask-mandate-march-4/95-175c4e4f-991e-4005-bc06-19b3ece3b64b

I wand to get my vaccine.  I just have to wait until I become eligible to receive it.  I am 36 years old and do not fit into one of the groups that qualifies so far.  I work at an architecture firm, so that isn`t exactly high risk (especially since we are currently working remotely Monday, Wednesday and Friday and only in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays).

Hopefully, by the end of summer things will be looking more like normal.  I would love to go to KI and see full trains being loaded by the end of the summer season.  And hopefully Winterfest comes back this year!  My four year old son keeps talking about seeing the "Santa show" at KI in the Festhaus.

Isn't Six Flags, Seaworld, and Universal also loading every row? Idk if CF will follow suit or not, but I hope they do. Maybe rides like Mystic Timbers, Woodstock, and Great Pumpkin could continue to do every other row since they don't have seatbacks.

Fingers crossed we will see full trains at KI this year!!  I absolutely cannot wait to experience Orion with a full train!!!
