Kennywood retiring Garfield's Nightmare

Featured Replies

Kennywood announced at yesterday's ACE CoasterBash event that the Garfield's Nightmare overlay on the Old Mill ride is being removed. The new theme for the ride has yet to be announced.

Here's a video of the announcement from a Reddit user:

Super excited about this. I've been waiting for this since I first visited about 12 years ago when I thought that this ride could be so cool if it was still retro themed.

I love Kennywood.

When I went there everything exceeded my expectations in every way.

Except Garfield.

This is a welcomed change.

If there's one thing I've figured out in this hobby, it's that when a ride is SBNO or has its closure announced, people who were otherwise silent on the matter WILL come out of the woodwork to talk about how amazing and underappreciated it is and why the park should reverse their decision immediately.

I genuinely never witnessed a single person do that for Garfield's Nightmare.
