My gf has video that she plays back for me about once a week at the announcement when the crowd starts chanting “Giga! Giga! Giga!” before speakers took the stage I was chanting “Jigga! Jigga! Jigga!” and everyone around us looked so confused!

Am I reading that page wrong?   Items 1 and 2 indicate the term had a negative connotation up until the 80’s but after that (3 & 4) it’s meaning became positive and appears to remain that way currently.   

I am thinking Orion could be known as "The Iron" due to the comparisons to a flat ride. I am 'pressed' to ride it soon as soon as the 'wrinkles' are worked out prior to opening day. I hope to be 'Permanent(ly) (im)pessed' by the ride and the 'ironing board' looking legs holding up the track.  ...keep it going...

Agree that the name is short and simple enough to not need a nickname (like Banshee), but Ori was the first thought I had as well. Thne when trees grow back in more night rides could be Ori and the Blind Forest

Last fall, a friend and I decided on the nickname of Oreo.

We got the idea while riding Vortex, so I am definitely sticking with it.

I will be calling it “The Southside Blues”.  First in reference to the great view from the lift hill of that empty plot of land just south of it where Vortex stood. Second for the color of Orion.

Will have to mull Oreo over for awhile.  I kind of like it, but the colors are not right and it is kind of Androidish. 

What about calling it phonetically: “or-e-on.” That’s dumb enough to catch on.

Not going to argue the fact that was dumb Bodda.

It is and always will be onion to me. It's generic but oh well, I love it.

I wish they had went with Polaris that way I could have nicknamed it Polar Ass. I always referred to Firehawk as Firecrotch.
