Here are my pics from yesterday. Didnt take any professional camera up. Just with my S9+. Plus, was a little bumpy. Watermarked because some people. And these definitely are "exclusive".

First time poster, long time follower.  Have not seen this posted yet, but a friend just send me this from atop the tower.  He is a crane operator so he knows a thing or two.

@IrishFan welcome to KICentral, I cant wait to see that crane on site!

That area they were digging on definitely looks to be a pad where our crane will go. It looks perfectly smoothed out.f83673316f18cb191d541cac47a07eda.jpg via wildgravitytravels

I'm going to Kings Island tomorrow, I will try to do that trick with the telescope that @BoddaH1994 suggested and will get nice zoomed it pics of the construction.

Here are some photos of the crane in the parking lot. It is a Liebherr 1750, rated at a maximum of 750 tons and a height of 633 feet.

This is Clifford.
Or, one of the Cliffords.

Clifford usually looks like this. The crane parked at KI doesn't currently have that on it.

The crane hasn’t been assembled yet.  Separate truckloads will deliver the lattice structure, boom, winches, and counterweights.

That unit in the lot is basically the equivalent of the turntable and crawler tracks of a tracked unit only on a wheeled chassis.

One of the benefits of waking up early is I got to see someone with a flashlight walking up Racers lift hill! Sounds lame, but I was fascinated. lol

This doesn't have anything to do with Orion, but with cranes.

Fun fact: the person who did the crane for WindSeeker and Invertigo used to go to my church and we knew him well! His name is Keith Irwin.

From the Flight of Fear/CHAOS queue area:

This thing is massive!!!  And for those wondering, it’s just about the same height as The Racer’s lift hill.

Whoever the a**hole is that posted this photo to Reddit with no credit given, you’re welcome for the free karma.  Jackass.

Question on assembly, When they bolt two pieces of track together, do they weld the smaller tubes together that the wheels roll on and then grind them down? Are they male and female and slip together? Never thought about that before but I am assuming that with them painted all ready, they are not welding them? If not welded, how do they keep water from getting inside? Would love to know the more specific details of how things go together

In today's day and age, you have to watermark your work unfortunately.

That's awful. Hindsight being perfect of course, maybe watermark your pictures you post. Of course, don't make the watermark as big as the photo. [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]

I've wondered this myself. I've even tried googling it, but couldn't find an answer. Hope someone here can fill us in!

Anyone know why they are painting these buildings white?

Probably the cheapest color of paint.

To make them identical to the C.H.A.O.S. building. Notice the gray bottom third of the middle building. I like how they are going for thematic consistency for the area, even backstage.

I love how big Orion is... and it’s not even done yet!

Also @LovinMeSomeBanshee, did you enjoy your trip through the cornfield last night?

It was my wife’s favorite Haunt!  But my wife kept getting impatient with me because I wanted to stop and look at all the footers, lol

I think every building in that area is being painted to match the new “Area 72” theming that FoF already has.

I wonder if they'll use that backstage area for overflow queue for Orion on opening weekend.

I heard opening day for Banshee the overflow queue went all the way back to the Eiffel Tower , and I’m guessing the overflow queue will be this:

Im not sure which opening day line was worse, Banshee or Diamondback.

I remember waiting by the Festhaus house for Banshee on opening day. They also had a ton of temporary queue back between Delirium and Banshee too.

People who go to opening day and wait in that line have my respect.

Good to hear @LovinMeSomeBanshee! I asked as I'm in there this year- it's my first year as a Scareactor and so far, it's been great! :D

Oh wow, wish I knew which one was you!  Were you in the big open hay bale area?  That seemed to be where most of the actors were, lol.

Good guess! I’m the room just before the hay bale room.
