November 30, 20187 yr So my friends and I have been having so much fun at Winterfest this year that we just had to learn more. What better way to figure out the way things work that to recreate the most iconic part of Winterfest: the world’s largest Christmas tree. Step one: make an Eiffel Tower Step 2: Make it realistic Step 3: Make it a tree Step 4: Program the lights As you can see this is a work in progress, but it was fun to learn how all this stuff works.
November 30, 20187 yr I wouldn't call that nerdy my man. Educational. Might even go as far as to be put in the illustrious "For Science" category. We are FAR from the days of daisy chaining lights together to cover the front bushes eh?

November 30, 20187 yr What a bunch of nerds.... uh. I mean, nice job! Seriously though, this is really sick. Thanks for sharing.
November 30, 20187 yr Author We are waiting for more lights to get shipped in so we can do the full way around the tower.
November 30, 20187 yr In all seriousness, job well done, I can’t wait to see how it looks once completed. BTW, are you planning on putting miniature people around the tower?
December 2, 20187 yr This isn't average nerdness... ...this is, advanced nerdness I disagree. Advanced Nerdness, would require a replica tower 3D printed with all details, at 0.1 resolution over a week or so.
January 4, 20197 yr Author Here is an update: Remade the tower and went a little different with the lights.
January 4, 20197 yr Job well done - if KI would only install some sets of RGB that way on the tower just think of the endless summertime night fireworks shows they could have!

January 6, 20197 yr Just out of curiosity, what do you plan to do with this? Personal Christmas decor, for use at the office, or to place presents under next year?

January 7, 20197 yr Or perhaps the start of a Kings Island Diorama At Entertrainment Junction? I’d like to see that myself.

It’s not G Scale so there is some debate as to whether or not it will end up in the layout. Currently myself and the other builder are against it. It will likely end up on display somewhere.
