July 10, 20188 yr ^ TBH, those same 2 you listed. Steel Vengeance is just incredible with how much strong airtime it has, and it is a long ride that makes great use of its immense wooden structure to boot. It is probably pretty close to what I would create if you asked me to build a super-ultimate roller coaster, and thus is my favorite coaster in the state. Maverick gives it a run for its money though with its intense launch, twists and turns, and while it does not have as many airtime moments it does make good use of the ones it has. Millennium Force would round out my podium for its sheer size and speed, with a side of decent floater airtime. The Beast is my favorite wooden coaster in the state (it would be #4 on my list)- sure, it doesn't have any real airtime to speak of save for like 1 hill, and it is mostly straight sections but due to its secluded nature it really doesn't need any of that fancy stuff. It's a big out-of-control feeling wooden coaster in the forest, with a epic helix finale that remains my favorite ending to any roller coaster (though Magnum XL-200's final bunny hills and Steel Vengeance's final hops give it a run for its money). It also gets a huge boost for night rides due to the seclusion.
July 10, 20188 yr This is prior to me riding Steel Vengeance, so that may very well be in this category for me in a few weeks. For the time being though, my favorite wooden coaster and overall in the state of Ohio is Beast and my favorite steel coaster is Magnum XL-200. Mystic Timbers is the only other woodie that would be up there with Beast, and for steel, Millennium Force, Banshee, Diamondback, Maverick and Rougarou would be in the running as well.
July 11, 20188 yr Diamondback. I have not been to CP since 2015 so none of the newer ones are on my list yet, but Maverick was a good ride. I will ride them all, but Diamondback gets the most rerides from us.
July 11, 20188 yr I haven't ridden Steel Vengeance yet, so as of right now, Millennium Force is still my favorite coaster in Ohio...
July 12, 20188 yr Author Millennium Force is pretty fun but I prefer Maverick. I love the Wild West theme.
August 5, 20188 yr The Banshee is my overall favorite. Although I was totally blown away by Maverick what an amazing ride.
August 5, 20188 yr TTD, maverick, DB, MF and beast are my top 5. Yet to ride SV Use to love Banshee, but hardly ride anymore. Rattles to much now and my wife and I don't enjoy much anymore
August 6, 20188 yr Haven't ridden Steel Vengeance yet, but as of right now Maverick is definitely my favorite. Seems like SV is amazing from videos and reports, so will be great to have the best two coasters next to each other in the same area.
August 6, 20188 yr I have only been to Kings Island so I'm limited when it comes to coasters but for me its The Beast. It got me over my fear of roller coasters and night rides are amazing. Banshee is a close second on my list.

August 9, 20188 yr @Maverick44 I assume if your name was SteelVengeance44, then you would like it better? Since I was at CP yesterday, I rode both. Since riding both again, I like SteVe better than Maverick. It just feels more intense for me. Although I do love the mid-course tunnel and acceleration.
August 9, 20188 yr Favorite Wooden: The Beast Favorite Steel: Magnum (so much childhood memories attached to it)

Maverick (Intamin) will always have my heart haha. SV was my first RMC and I love it!!!
August 14, 20188 yr It is hard choice for me. It just all depends on what kind of mood I am in when I go to the parks. For that reason I plea the 5th.
August 17, 20188 yr It’s a tie between Diamondback and Beast for me, but I would have to say Diamondback because it’s the coaster that I got over my fear of heights with also because it’s tattooed on my arm.
March 19, 20206 yr I have riden SV and my top two are The Beast(night or day) followed by Maverick. I like SV but the restraints were to painful for me to consider it a favorite.
