I doubt outpost 5 is protected it's just way to general... SOB would have likely been trademarked, but it's hard to say what the status on that would be now. But they could probably still come after anyone doing any amusement park/roller coaster things with any name reflecting "Beast" But it all just depends. I doubt they are really going to care unless you're making money or damaging the brand.

Technically anything that is created is already copyrighted even without filing the paperwork. The paperwork is just a system in place to help the small guy easier protect his rights. But bigger corporations would have no problem with their legal teams to prove who originally owned the media.
