@King Ding Dong I actually thought of you when I was at WindSeeker yesterday. In fact, whenever I've been working it lately I think "I wonder if KDD is here right now..."

The instrumental music is back this season.  Rivertown actually had appropriate music for that area playing as well (folk/country music).

Has the music on The Racer changed? When I rode yesterday, instead of rockin' the fun, classic rock songs, they were playing the same, bland, boring, forgettable songs you hear waiting in line for your groceries at Wal-Mart.

Hey everyone how’s it going today,I might be going to KI on June 2nd, is anyone else going that day

So, this was new from last time I rode Firehawk last year. The fencing around the track as one exited the ride used to be chain link. It is now this, all the way around.

Is it possible that this fence could mean that we’re getting a new attraction/coaster next year?or has this fence always been there because I’ve never seen that fence(sorry for the double post)

Right on the other side of that fence is the Firehawk brake run.  They just switched out the type of fence.  Nothing to see or hint about a future attraction there.

When I rode Firehawk on April 8 during the Dry Run for us associates, I thought I felt strangely secluded walking up the exit path. Now I know why; it's because the fence is different!

I bet they figured someone seeing their phone laying on the ground there was just too much temptation or maybe someone even climbed the fence last year.

I am counting the total times I've visited KI and the refresh station (by the train) was open. Just two times this year.

Still don’t beleive you.   Hold up today’s newspaper in front of it.

If by some major miracle this is true, it is only becuase I am not there and helping my son study for finals. I bet WindSeeker is running full blast as well.

It was earlier (I saw a yeti and the same time but took a picture of the rarer one)

However, by around 8 (pic taken at 7:42PM) ...

Park management must have seen I responded to the posts and so ordered an emergency shutdown just in case I decided to rush down there.   Sorry guys.  :P

They were actually out of syrup on two of the three machines yesterday around 5. Not popular at all, they should close it more often.

Literally the left machine had nothing but water. The middle was out of half of them and either a dumb guest or an ice machine malfunction because the filling area was all ice chunks

Hopefully with high schools and colleges letting out they will have enough staffing to keep that location open all the time.  It makes no sense to have a location within ear shot of three of the biggest coasters in the park closed all the time.

My last rides on it were Racer Radio...so that's weird.

Hmm.. Perhaps my experience was just a momentary thing. I am not sure how The Racer's queue music works. Is it a stream or a CD? Could the employees have switched to another stream for whatever reason?

I believe it's digital. My friend created Racer Radio a few years ago.

Speaking of "Racer Radio"...

When i rode last Thursday, it seemed like Racer's station music kept switching between the classic stuff and newer, non-70s music.

It looks like I will most likely see Gravity for the first time this Sunday, as I work an Open (until 3:45) and I'll be able to catch the 5:00 show! I'm so excited!

Did Vortex get two new footers this year?  As I was exiting The Beast the other day I saw what looks like new concrete with some excavation.

My wife and I wear in that Coke station by the train earlier this year and it smelled horrible of sewage water.  Maybe they are having issues with the pluming?

I think it was mentioned that they redid some of the footers, however, I highly doubt they are totally new.

Also, please don't correct me and say it's supposed to be called a footing.

The correct architectural term is footing. ;)

They likely replaced some of the concrete in the footing as there was likely signs of deterioration in the old concrete.

I’m curious to how they did it. Although each support was likely designed to take the forces off an adjacent failed support, I’m wondering how they did it without putting excess forces on the structure.

During Winterfest last year there was a funky smell as you walk past AE/Slingshot.  A couple of associates said it was a lingering smell.  I wasn't sure if it was the pond or sewers or what, but it was there almost every time I visited.
