July 13: Gold & Platinum night rides

Featured Replies

It has ranged from being twice as long of waits after it started than there were before closing, to being walk ons the whole time. It all depends on how full the park is and how nice the weather is (which are pretty related). Usually, even when it has been busy, though, crowds usually tend to drop off as the night goes on. So towards midnight it may be all walk ons even if it was busy earlier.

Tl;dr: it all depends and is hard to predict for sure, but should be fun if you can stay till midnight.

If it isn't a wash out tonight (going by the forecast), I may show up.  Won't decide until after work.

I might come as well this afternoon, depending on the forecast. If so, I'd probably arrive around 4pm or 5pm.

What are the best rides during the evening?

Here's a previous discussion on which rides members like to do at night: https://KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/31185-bestworst-night-rides/

Many would say that The Beast is the best night ride at KI, or anywhere. Mystic Timbers is also a unique experience after dark. Night ERT on both of them will be a lot of fun - weather permitting!

If my dad lets me go to KI this afternoon/evening, I'm going to try to hit 400 on Vortex and 100 on Diamondback and WindSeeker! Hopefully the weather will cooperate enough for that to happen. :)

Today started like a normal evening summer visit, then ended up as a rainy Haunt visit.  I'm more soaked than 5 rides on WWC with the rain that poured mid-ERT.  Had a fun time regardless.

I had my first night rides on Backlot Stunt Coaster tonight! I took advantage of the nonexistent line and rode it three times. Then I went to The Beast but the thunderstorm beat me to what would have been my first night ride on The Beast since 2013. Oh well. But BLSC was fun! I always underestimate how intense it is for such a small coaster!

Thanks a lot! I think I should try the rides you mentioned. I hope I can ride them all!B)

I'm guessing that the August 3 night rides of Racer, Delirium and Adventure Express will be one of the lighter attendance nights? Especially with some rain in the Thursday forecast.
