Since Kings Island is turning 45 I would like to start a discussion page where we can look back on the last 45 years of Kings Island. Starting with this mini-documentary about KI's construction.

One of my favorite memories of KI, is riding Banshee for the first time in 2015 with my Aunt. We rode in the front row. I remember thinking the ride was awesome. I really loved the intensity of the ride, and still do to this day.

 

Anyway, in my opinion there are three historical era's of Kings Island, these are:

Classic Era: 1972-1992

Paramount Era: 1993-2006

Cedar Fair Era: 2007-present

Great video. Thanks for sharing! The park has come a long way for only being open 45 years. There's alot of history crammed into that short time span.

I'd love to see some more videos or podcasts that have in-depth historical info on KI from 72-current.  I know there is a fantastic one that's about an hour long that explains it's genesis in detail, but is pretty short on 80's to current information.  Is there anything out there like that?

Great Video! Brings back memories from way back. My first Visit was when I was 5 years old in 1978.

 

Also, is there a Podcast that features Kings Island or Cedar Fair?

This will actually be Kings Island's 46th season, but I suppose they are celebrating the competition of 45 seasons.

Yes it is the 46th season but it is the 45th Anniversary, and the anniversaries are what most things focus on.
