BoddaH's Excellent Adventure to Holiday Fest

Featured Replies

I like the way Ryan described THE BEACH's Holiday Fest in a very professional and unbias manner. While reading portions, I felt like he was holding himself back from saying PKI would do a much better job than THE BEACH.

After reading Ryan's editorial I found myself feeling sorry for the animals at the live Nativity scene. However, I also found myself interested in experiencing what Holiday Fest has to offer. It's seems like an awesome festival. Since it's too late for me to go this year....I shall try for next year.

In conclusion, I think that Ryan's editorial was well-written, can be appreciated by an animal lover, and sparked the reader's interest in visiting and enjoying Holiday Fest.

Great job Ryan!

I'd have to say that Holiday Fest is nothing compared to what Winterfest used to be.

I really hope so. I assume that PKI would have a lot more to offer and be able to offer it to a better demographic.

We don't know if PKI will return Winter Fest...until then all we can do is speculate how great it would be.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!

Actually, some of us do.

Gave it an "8" for good writing.

A little Grinch-y, though? I mean, have you ever seen a camel that DID look happy? He also may have just been having a bad day, you know, a fight with Mrs. Camel or something - actually they are fine with the cold. I do find the living nativity to be cheesy, but the rest of the things you described, I would have loved.

Since becoming a parent I have found ways to make a rock seem exciting and fun. There's only so much the Beach can do, you have to bring some of your own imagination, and hey, it beats watching "A Christmas Story" 718 times!

And of course, PKI could do it better. For the record, I did go to the Holiday Lights festival at Brookfield Zoo, and their camels didn't look happy either. And most of the other animals were sound asleep - even the polar bears.

The camel didn't look happy.. I didn't want to go into full detail about this in the editorial because that wasn't the point, but it kept rubbing its head against the fence for some reason. And you're right -- camels are fine in the cold. About a thosand years ago, they became extinct in North America, but it was more or less the same breed.

Like I said in the editorial, if your an adult or a little kid, you may have fun there, but it doesn't exactly match well with the 18-25 demographic.
