October 22, 20169 yr WindSeeker has stopped at the top of its tower. This may be the first time our WindSeeker has to be evacuated.http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/580abc79bff6f/20161021_210813.jpg?http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/580abc888a9ca/20161021_210811.jpg?Sent from my SM-G920V using TapatalkEDIT: WindSeeker has returned to the ground. False alarm.
October 22, 20169 yr Author Yep, actually saw it stuck a couple of times today. Knowing the WindSeakers' past...I had no clue what was happening. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
October 22, 20169 yr I just got off Diamondback when me and my friend saw WindSeeker at the top. We went to the base of that tower to check it out and talked to a ride op. There were never any guests on it when they moved it to the top. Maintenance was just working on it apparently and it was too windy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
October 25, 20169 yr I don't think many understand the scope of trouble that would have to occur in order to have to bust out the "yellow thing." If the computer malfunctions or even if they lose power they can manually lower it. From what I understand, you would be something like a catastrophic cable break and the emergency clamps in place before an evac is even in the conversation. There's an excellent chance that they'll never have to evac the ride, and let's hope they never do.
October 25, 20169 yr An evacuation using that "yellow thing" would take a ridiculous amount of time since it can only accommodate four riders at a time.

When they first installed Drop Zone, if an emergency occurred, they could only evac one rider at a time. I suspect that just like DZ, it will take longer to get all the specialty teams in place and equipment rigged, than the actual evac. Due to the height of those rides, Hamilton County USAR & support personnel have be brought in to do the actual rescue.
October 25, 20169 yr What is better. Four people being evacuated at a time, over the course of 3 hours to get everyone off? Or everyone waiting 3 hours to get off?
