Son of Beast Construction Pics and Videos.

Featured Replies

I love seeing and watching the construction of roller coasters, especially woodies. Does anyone have any pics and even more so, video of SOB under construction? Particularly the lift hill.

Wow. Everytime I see those photos I think to myself about how much money Paramount wasted building this broken pile of wood and nails. And that's sad coming from me, a person who is [Honestly] very sensitive about most rides and attractions being removed...

I loved the ride (its gimmick). I'm glad it was done. I'm sure close to 30 people would disagree with me specifically.. But it wasn't all bad.

I understand your points Calakapepe. I unfortunately wasn't around before the loop was scrapped, so my experience probably not the person to tell you how it was. The ride just detireorated over time, and for me personally the ride's gimmick sounded really silly to me as I got older.

Yes and the headchopper that you'd get is what would be the most exciting thing.

I always had fear that I'd get decapitated as we approached the bottom.. something that most headchoppers dont get to accomplish.

SOB without the loop IMO was even more rough than with it. Not that it wasnt rough to begin with.. 2005 was particularly rough, I remember. I told myself that I should ride it only once per year because of how rough it was, despite it being a fun thrilling ride.

The only real thing about SOB that i liked was that it was a Hyper woodie....other than the big drop and the loop it was pretty much just helixes and i think those are rather mundane and boring. but thats just me.
