November 3, 20178 yr While the newly released map makes me super excited for Winterfest, it hurts my brain to not see the non-Winterfest attractions on it. I've poured over so many eras of KI maps, from the years before I remember what was where, to the current placement of the rides and attractions that replaced older ones over the years. I feel like there are holes in my vision. But I stand by my first statement: I'm SO EXCITED FOR WINTERFEST!!

Skyflyer is located behind the Coasters Connections building. This map shows tubing in front of that building.
November 3, 20178 yr Checking out the WinterFest map, they're going all out with decorations on Mystic Timbers, candy canes and Christmas lights. It's going to look very nice!

You're right....I didn't zoom in far enough. 5 minutes ago, Imperial79 said: Checking out the WinterFest map, they're going all out with decorations on Mystic Timbers, candy canes and Christmas lights. November 3, 20178 yr Thanks @Imperial79 I was looking under the map feature when looking at attractions.
November 3, 20178 yr This WinterFest map reminds me of the old Paramount maps, in terms of the ground color. Here's one from 2004: Here's a comparison of this year's WinterFest and Paramount's WinterFest in 2005. Much more bigger this year and a lot more things to do. I mean a lot more.
November 4, 20178 yr People have pointed out that the international restaurant is going to be open to the public again right?

November 4, 20178 yr Woo! The new map is out! Also, anyone notice Santa and his reindeer enjoying Mystic Timbers' first drop (or at least cars made to look like Santa and his reindeer)? We still haven't figured out what will be in the shed though... EDIT: Also, games will be open! Wonder what the prizes will be? I saw this huge abominable snowman for over $200 at Kohl's- that would be really cool if that (or the smaller ones) were available as prizes. Also, looks like Al (the troll) will be joining us for Winterfest (see Coney Elf Village)!!!!!!!!!! EDIT2: Ok, what I thought was Al's hut may be Subway with a wreath on it...
November 4, 20178 yr More details on food and meal plan. http://cpfoodblog.com/2017-kings-island-winterfest-food-guide/Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
November 4, 20178 yr I would have thought there would have been a dining plan price as well. I would have gladdly paid $15.00. I think they will be missing out on a lot of money by not having a dining plan price.
November 4, 20178 yr I would have thought the upcharge would be around $8 for dinning plan holders like Midway Market at CP. Call me a cheap *******, as my wife does, but not paying $25 a head for a buffet. Especially for kids that can't even finish a chicken strip basket on a good day. In addition, CF has not exactly conditioned me to expect premium quality food for premium prices. With the notable exception of Smokehouse and maybe Panda, I view eating at the park as a necessary bodily function much like using the restroom, not some enjoyable experience. Anybody know if Prancers Pizza is rebranded LaRosas or something different that is actually edible? Asking for my kid who will eat even the cheapest frozen cheese pizza but won't touch LaRosas. Edit: Nevermind, I looked it up and it's just LaRosas.
November 4, 20178 yr They did say some prices weren't listed on the guide, so maybe there is one. They would be missing out on a good amount cash. If it's 25 I'll probably only do it once.
November 4, 20178 yr I thought it would be priced similar to Dollywood's Aunt Granny's or Ms Lilly's. They are about $17 with a 20 percent SP Discount.

November 4, 20178 yr As I replied in the Coney construction thread: It still has the former Coney Potato Works on the map as well...the path for Tower Gardens never really reached over that far....it's more like the artist took some liberties to fill space than anything. No hints there.
November 4, 20178 yr This may be a really random question, and I may be missing something fairly obvious. Someone explain something for me, if you'd be so kind... The video promos on Facebook for Winterfest - Where did they shoot that footage? WGSG, scratching her head.
November 5, 20178 yr Here's a tweet from the Kings Island's games department. Looks like you'll be able to win a giant Santa, a candy cane, and/or a big bear (probably more). @MDMC01 should be happy based off his recent post in this thread .
November 5, 20178 yr Thanks for the heads up, @JubJester! That will be one of the many things I'll be checking out during Winterfest. So, I'm starting to get the feeling one will need to visit multiple nights to see all the Winterfest magic/awesomeness. There is no way one can attend all the shows in the same night (I don't think, at least...), let alone have time for sledding, food, ice skating and Mystic (plus the other 3 non-Snoopy flats).
November 7, 20178 yr Today, Christmas lights are being added to the Eiffel Tower! It's getting closer!
November 7, 20178 yr I am not gonna lie, I cracked myself up with this response to the original tweet
November 7, 20178 yr Apologies for the horrendous quality, but here is the best photo I could take from my upstairs window of the Eiffel Tower lit up!

November 9, 20178 yr Here's two pictures of the Eiffel Tower I just took (all taken in legal locations). Seems the lights on the back of the tower are the only ones on as of now. They also have some lights on the poles leading up to the entrance. Also saw reindeer on the top of the entrance building.
