They've had more trouble with the new elevators there...the old ones worked flawlessly for years. Seems new stuff in "This Town" is never as reliable as the old. See also Metro Rail cars.

    The renovations for that monument closed it for, what? A decade?  This is out of hand.

    Don't forget. There was also the earthquake. Repairs from that were still ongoing when I got here and only recently finished.

    The Monument also encourages advance reservations now.  The number of walkups is very limited, and go quickly when the line opens each morning.
