December 24, 201510 yr In today's Toledo Blade....http://www.toledoblade.com/business/2015/12/24/Coaster-reaches-maximum-altitude.html
December 24, 201510 yr Very interesting. I did notice at the end it said it will accommodate 1,200 riders per hour. I have to wonder how close it will come to this amount. Anyone care to venture a guess?
December 24, 201510 yr Valravn* Being a B&M I would venture with very close, efficiency is part of the paramount of their success.
December 25, 201510 yr its a new "signature" ride at Cedar Point , they will make SURE it hits 1200pph, no matter how many power hours it takes, and regardless of guest comfort/experience/safety. Sparky, still not (and never will be) a fan of divers or power hours.
December 25, 201510 yr I'm surprised that they're going with the 8-row trains, and I wonder why. Griffon's are 10. 24 riders vs. 30. That's a substantial difference.
December 25, 201510 yr Valravn's trains are using the vest restraints, and I imagine ten seats with those restraints would be too wide.
December 28, 201510 yr I'm surprised that they're going with the 8-row trains, and I wonder why. Griffon's are 10. 24 riders vs. 30. That's a substantial difference. SheiKra at BGT has 3 rows of 8 seats. I would imagine that the seat number/width of the train would impact space needed for elements while working with the limitations of the space available.
December 28, 201510 yr Bkroz, I forgot to add something about capacity. The biggest challenge I forsee will be the guests themselves. I think the station design/row staging, assigned seating, and loose articles will play a bigger part in capacity than 6 seats.
