pki.com seems to be down again

Featured Replies

Just tried going there to save a few seconds, and I was greeted with a Chrome timed out error message. Visitkingsisland.com works fine as usual.

Pretty sure there was a thread for this before, but I couldn't find it.

If you still type "pki.com" into your browser's address bar to access the Kings Island website, then I think it's time for you to move into 2015 and learn what these wonderful things call "bookmarks" are for. :P

(A bit more on topic: Firefox also times out.)

I have way too many bookmarks, most I don't even use. It would take forever to look for a specific one. Generally I just keep my tabs from last time anyway.

This is what "folders" are for. ;)

Well they own it till atleast Aug 6, 2017. Which it may be renewed, or (if smart)hopefully they auction it off themselves. Estibot has it estimated at $200,000

I still remember eagerly awaiting to return home from Paramount's Kings Island in the late 90s so that I could visit the "new" www.pki.com in Netscape over 28.8kbps dial-up Internet. (My phone line was noisy as a kid; I was stuck at that speed until we got cable Internet.)

As a redirect to www.visitkingsisland.com, It's been up and down over the years. It hasn't worked for the past few months, which has finally caused me to start typing "visi" instead of "pki" when I want to find the park's website.

Not exactly sure where to post this, I just found it quite funny.

the girl on the far right is holding a Coca-Cola cup that seems to have the old Paramount Parks logo at the bottom of the cup.  Is Cedar Fair using marketing material from way back when?  Almost 10 years ago?

What's even worse is that to fix the picture takes 5 mins to fix in photo shop or maybe 10 mins to change the source pic

I just found this forum yesterday after finding a FB post about hauntings at KI which led me to a post here, but long story short I tried pki.com yesterday and couldn't get it load either. I figured they had finally let that address go.

That domain seems to still be owned by Cedar Fair, as the IP address is very similar to the one for visitkingsisland.com.

I wouldn't have even noticed if you hadn't of pointed it out, that is quite concerning.

Also random question: In the 2007 season did Kings Island have Paramount Kings Island merchandise on sale or was removed from the park completely?

2007 seemed to be the weird year.  It was the first full season Cedar Fair had owned the park and was just then removing Paramount references but not all of them.  The movie-themed rides would be renamed in 2008.

For example:

In this video, (about 14 seconds in) you can see that the sign in front of the royal fountain was simply the old Paramount's Kings Island sign but with the top Paramount mountain removed.
