DROP ZONE @ PKI OR DZ @ PKD

Featured Replies

We all know that PKD has a Drop Zone, and they think their DZ is better than ours. So lets have some speculation about this one... Who's is better?

I think PKD's is better because the drop is just a few feet taller to give you a little more airtime and ours hits around 72 to 74 mph instead of 67 mph. The DZ at PKD also holds more people per cycle with 56 compared to 40. Also, I personally like the color scheme of PKD's much better than PKI's.

rotation... view... we get to see the entire park, while pkd you are stuck in one spot the whole rdie to the top.... i think that the rotation gives a lot to the ride experience. while i have never ridden pkd's, i just dont think it can give the same ride as ours here at pki. :cowboy:

I agree with you about the rotation. The best part about PKI's is that it stops rotating several feet from the top, so you think you're at the top at that point but it keeps going up! That's freaky.

I haven't been on PKD's, but I'm not really sure if you could actually tell the difference. I'm just happy that we have a DZ.

You can tell the difference, PKD DZ brakes start later and stop faster to give you more air time. I also like PKD DZ seats and loading system over PKI.

If you ride both of the DZ's then you will probably say PKD's is better. Why? Intamin learned from the mistakes of PKI's DZ and implemented those changes on PKD's DZ.

No one besides someone who looked it up would notice that extra 10 feet. C'mon.

You can tell if you ride it to,you wouldn't think you could but you can.

I think their loading system much better and faster than PKI.

It also is at ground level you don't have to step up to get on.

Look at how how high the seats are on the sides, they are nice.

Well with out a doubt those seats do look better and PKD has better capcity but that doesn't mean anything cause PKI rotates to give a great panarominic veiw and it has a better color sheme

Sure.

If you had any idea what a small fraction the DZ crew is of the entire park staff you would be ashamed to use that golden ticket thing as a reason. You people are scraping for things now.

It maybe that one crew that caused PKI not to get it.

You maybe correct though the SOB crew is not that good either.

Don't get mad it's just my opinion.

Who said I was mad? Anyway, OJ Simpson might have been innocent. Possible? Yes, but I wouldn't say it around sane people.

Ok, well when I was on PKD DZ after riding the one at PKI alot you could tell it was a longer drop. It's the way the brakes are on it, it stops faster with a shorter brake run so when you add that in it's more than 10 ft free fall over PKI.

Who is calculating all that out while they're on a ride that is supposed to be fun? Anyway, you're not changing my mind and I'm not changing yours, so I'm dropping it.

I like PKI's the best! This is just my opinion but I like the steps to PKI's DZ. It adds to the ride in my opinion.

Who cares if it starts to break 10 feet sooner. On the ride I really doubt you would notice that. The only thing that matters on a drop ride is the hight. The taller the better. PKI's is the talles so it is the best.

Geez, some of you people are so close minded. Look, for one, PKI's DZ is taller, but it's drop is shorter. So what the heck does it matter if the tower is taller but you go a shorter distance up that tower? Does having a longer stretch of tower above your head make it a better ride for some unknown reason?

There is no way to decide which is better to you until you ride them both. I haven't been to PKI so I don't know which is better and even if you have ridden both, that is your opinion on which is the best, so the world won't end if someone disagrees with you.

I'll take the longer drop any day. It is not an insult to PKI's DZ, but PKD's is newer, so any modifications for improving the ride was put into PKD's.
