April 22, 201511 yr Down again, but in todays marketplace, the resell value of PKI.com would be easliey 5 figures. Could be something as simple as DNS issues? Just a thought!
April 23, 201511 yr Down again, but in todays marketplace, the resell value of PKI.com would be easliey 5 figures. Could be something as simple as DNS issues? Just a thought! Kinda unlikely as its been on and off so much. My guess is a poor domain forwarding service or coding.
April 25, 201511 yr It could even be A/B testing to check whether forwarding users from that domain is still necessary.
April 29, 201511 yr I still think they need to get kingsisland.com. It hasn't been associated with anything for like a year now.
April 29, 201511 yr It's still registered to a Canadian company through September 21, 2016 called King's Island. Cedar Fair would have to buy the rights to the domain from them, likely for more than they are willing to pay.
April 29, 201511 yr Assuming the guy lets it expire. Why not pay the nominal renewal cost, especially knowing that he might be able to get Cedar Fair to pay him a substantial sum?
April 30, 201511 yr Assuming the guy lets it expire. Why not pay the nominal renewal cost, especially knowing that he might be able to get Cedar Fair to pay him a substantial sum? But if the bona fide "King's Island" business no longer exists, then wouldn't renewing with the sole intent of trying to get Cedar Fair to buy it from him be considered illegal cybersquatting? (insert disclaimer that I am not a lawyer here)
April 30, 201511 yr The tricky thing there is that the registrant is Canadian. There's the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act but that is a US law. The US likely has no jurisdiction there. Is the business truly no longer or is the site simply not being maintained at this time?
April 30, 201511 yr ^ ICANN, the international body that oversees domain names and IP addresses, has its own dispute resolution policy. And I found a copy of the kingsisland.com archived here. It appears to have been an online business, and Googling the address provided by the "contact us today" link shows that it appears to be a residential address. So I would say that the business indeed most likely no longer exists.
