I'll be travelling through Las Vegas soon and was wondering if anyone had any experiences to share with the coasters there. Particularly Desperado and the coaster at New York, New York. I have read less than stellar reviews elsewhere. Thoughts anyone?

Desperado can shake the crap out of you if you try to fight her, so try to go with the flow there. Also it has very limited hours so keep that in mind (only runs on the weekends) but I do love it, I see Desperado as Magnum's taller, rougher tomboy-ish sister. And Canyon Blaster is a fun little Arrow looper at Adventuredome, I actually like it a lot better than Vortex at KI cause it don't make me feel as sick. I don't really recommend the piece of garbage at New York New York but if you really want that credit, go right ahead. Be prepared to get knocked around a bit through some of the most awkward transitions you may ever see. o_o

2 coasters at Circus Circus, and I love Desperado, and New York New York Roller coaster.

The craps table can be quite a roller coaster. Up a couple hundred one minute, down a couple hundred a few minutes later.

I'd not ride the Roller Coaster at New York New York Casino again if they paid me to.

Canyon Blaster is a delight. Desperado is in Primm, a far piece from Vegas. I love that ride as much as I loathe the Roller Coaster at New York New York Casino.

The rides atop Stratosphere are worth checking out.

The roller coastery type ride at the top of Stratosphere that gives you the false sensation that you are about to plunge down off the tower is the most thrilling ride I've experienced by a pretty wide margin. You are WAY up there.

I will 100% echo what Terp said about The Roller Coaster at NYNY, the artist formerly known as Manhattan Express when I rode it in 2003. I'm not one to complain about rough rides, but this ride beat the crap out of me AND my entire family. We all had the same sentiment: Never again. I've been back since, I held to my word. It was that bad. Not only that, in 2003, I believe it was $13, so I can't imagine what it is these days. I know people around here often aren't fans of TPR, but if you find and watch their video of Manhattan Express, you'll understand... and laugh quite a bit (especially if you have ridden it and understand their pain).

In 2003, most of the existing rides at The Stratosphere were not there, except for Big Shot. I did it at night and was lucky enough to face The Strip. That was quite the rush as you couldn't really see the tower below you. Worth the money. I didn't ride High Roller up top, but that has since been removed.

Too bad Nascar Cafe closed and Vegas lost Speed: The Ride, because that was a fantastic ride, racing along The Strip and all. As for Desperado, I've driven past and it looked decent enough, but never stopped. It's not exactly close to Las Vegas. I've heard mixed reviews, but if you're coming by from SD, I'd say it's probably worth a visit.

New York New York Coaster...... No...... Just.... No

I love the New York, New York coaster. It's fast, tall, and has two inversions. Yes it is made by TOGO but they have premier trains and brakes.

Premier Rides, as the trademarked name of a ride manufacturer, is always capitalized here.

And I'm glad you like that contraption.

The way some of you describe that coaster, you make it sound as if it makes SOB feel like a B&M. I rode it in January of this year for the first time, in the back car of the train, and I found only two less-than-desirable transitions... coming out of the turn before the loop, and then coming out of the loop itself. I dont know who has and has not ridden it with the Premier Taxi trains, but I wouldn't have hesitated one bit to ride it multiple times had I not gotten busy with other things. WMAJrKY, give it a shot and judge for yourself, I may be "painfully" wrong, or you may enjoy it.

By the way, don't forget to check out the incredibly huge observation wheel! If you ride it at night, you're in for a real treat!

P.S. Why does the world need a 550ft observation wheel again.....?

High Roller is amazing Pictures don't do that thing justice.

Last time I rode Manhattan Express was 2013 and it was 11 bucks, a friend of mine from LA had a coupon for double rides so we were stuck riding the stupid thing twice. I wouldn't touch it even if it were free.

Delayed update, but I did Manhattan Express. Ouch. I could see some of the transitions coming and couldn't help but tense up, which probably made it worse.

I had a view of High Roller from my room at Bellagio, but never made it over there to do it. Was pretty though!

No Canyon Blaster/El Loco or Desperado? High Roller is an amazing sight at night...we had a gorgeous view of it from our room at the Flamingo last year.
