2015 Season Passes

Featured Replies

Is the date that 2015 Season Passes will go on sale public? We'd like to visit the parks this August or early Sept, but also want passes for next year, so I'd like to get them for 2015 if they still allow you to visit for the rest of the season.

Thanks for your help!

  • For me personally, my in-park spending dropped to basically zero, but not because of the dining plan. Before that, I would pack a lunch and eat in the car or leave for Taco Bell. Banshee's requiring

Or get a new pass and use the old one the rest of this year. Later today, I'm doing that. You see, I want to go to Carowinds next year.

Cedar Fair typically allows ONE visit during the year before on new passes purchased for the following year. Passes are typically sold beginning late August/early September.

And Welcome to KIC!

Yes, in the past few years passes for the following year have gone on sale on Labor Day weekend. That does not guarantee that they will do the same this year, though.

Also, as The Interpreter mentioned, passes sold for the following year have, in the past few years, only been valid for a single visit in the year purchased, not for unlimited visits the rest of the season. Again, that does not guarantee it will be the same this year, but don't expect to buy a pass this fall and make repeated visits this year on it.

Again, welcome to KIC! :)

^ That is very possible. Don't make specific plans until they announce the details of 2015 pass sales.

Also, typically the best price on a season pass is in the Fall, so if you're going to buy it's the time to do it.

^ That's a type of offer that's difficult to get rid of. After getting a taste of "unlimited", it's hard for customers to accept paying per instance again.

I predict that it will be back in some form. Possibly with more time restrictions.

Season passes last year went on sale 3rd week of August for the 2014 year. I would look on the website starting next week if they start selling :)

Last year season passes went on sale August 30.

Wait before buying a Platinum Pass. With the way they are giving away the gate on 2-day passes and what not, and getting into other parks being the only other benefit, I threw money away going Platinum.

Thanks Don, at my age, the mind is forgetful of dates :)

Hmmm, a Thursday eh? I'd say there's a good chance of a 2015 announcement that day as well.

I bet it won't be 9.95, at Kroger or anywhere else.

And there's pretty much no chance of them announcing it to be at such a price.

Have you guys checked out Canada's Wonderland's site. It says that if you renew your season pass you get a free Fast Lane Plus wristband to use at their park this season. (I contacted them and this promotion is only valid at Canada's Wonderland.) Do you think that Kings Island will offer something similar because that would be a great incentive for people who may not renew because it doesn't appear that anything big will be coming next year.

^ If KI offers that deal, Fast Lane queues on Haunt Saturdays might not be fast at all. :)

Platinum pricing is $184.50 for new passes or $180 (same as last year) for renewed passes. Platinum pass prices have been consistent throughout the chain for the past few years, regardless of the CAN/USD value.

2015 dining adds $99 to either pass.

Since this will be my first year renewing the passes, do they have the payment plans available when they go on sale or is that something that's only offered later on? I hope they offer the season dining pass again, it really made things easier for us.

Payment plans should be available. They are at Wonderland already as 2015 passes are onsale already.

how similar were Wonderland/KI passes last year? I would assume that it will be the same way this year maybe?

So CAN to US makes it $65... safe to assume thats about what we will be at for next year?

^ Prices last year were ~$85 for gold and $180 for platinum in the fall at KI. I wouldn't expect this to decrease.

Canada's Wonderland's pass prices don't include parking (except with platinum).

Yea I investigated after I posted. Didnt realize at first look that they didnt offer Gold Passes.
