July 27, 201412 yr Two more dates have been added to Kings Island's popular Dinos After Dark in Dinosaurs Alive. 8/2 and 8/9 More info:https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/things-to-do/events-and-promotions/Dinos-After-Dark
July 27, 201412 yr With tonight's cancellation, I figured they would add next Saturday (8/2) to compensate, but 8/9 is a surprise since that's a 10pm close, not a midnight close. Interesting.
July 27, 201412 yr Good news. Guest relations says that they will honor any ticket purchased tonight for either of the two additional nights offered. Yay smores!
August 4, 201412 yr According to the website: "This unique experience begins after the 10:00 p.m. fireworks show Saturday, August 9, with tours running until midnight. The event includes a guided tour, s'mores, activities and more than 65 life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs." So... this Saturday is listed as being a 10:00 closing. Is it true that Dinos After Dark is running for two hours by itself after closing? Or should that info be updated to an earlier start time?
August 4, 201412 yr I'm assuming that it runs by itself after closing. I might be there Saturday night.
August 4, 201412 yr I don't think that they can have people on the trail during fireworks, so starting Dinos After Dark earlier wouldn't be an option. This Saturday is also Beast Buzz; attendees of that event have ERT on select attractions after park closing.
August 4, 201412 yr I went Saturday. It was great for kids but kind of "meh" for adults. Every child was given a flashlight, so....I had flashlights in my eyes throughout the entire trail. Our tour guide was in a super hurry turning our Dino's After Dark into the Dino's 5k Run in the Dark There were thirty or so people in our group and she was so far ahead that she was turning on the dinos but before we could get there, then they quit moving. In actuality, we couldn't hear her at all...in fact, we heard "Wah wah wha wha wha wha wha". Then we rushed through the smores like lightning and to the exit. Interesting but hardly worth 3 dollars (for an adult) in my opinion, unless you have little ones and it was "awesome, Dad" as one kid exclaimed.
August 4, 201412 yr we heard "Wah wah wha wha wha wha . So the teacher from Peanuts was your tour guide?
August 5, 201412 yr I will attend Dinos this Saturday night with my kids. It's a great break from the park rides and yes they tend to rush but hopefully since the park is closed after 10, no need to rush. Most people will leave after 10.
August 5, 201412 yr I don't understand the rush, but I guess they have their reasons, just seemed kind of anti-climatic to a decent evening of entertainment. I think a single conga-line of people with guides throughout the trail would have been sufficient with a head guide and a tail guide to round up the group. It also seemed like the volume of growls was turned down as well. To be frank, the best part was the smores...yummy yum yum yum!!!! I had a Hershey and a Reese's....I left the area, with sticky sweetness all over my face and hands.....ah heaven.
August 5, 201412 yr Author I thought it was pretty fun. $3 for something I've never gotten to do at Kings Island? Sure, why not?
August 5, 201412 yr ^^ True. You can't beat the price, and it has potential to be something big down the road if this was a success. Based on the crowd that was waiting to go in, I think it was pretty successful.
