In the earlier days, many of the items were either sold or auctioned off by the park. I know of a family that owns one of the Enchanted Voyage boats that they use in their pond. I believe they responded to a news paper ad that listed available items.

If I had the space and the where with all, I would pop at $2500. The thing you have to keep in mind is this is not just a go cart, this also has pop culture value. This was a ride that was enjoyed by millions of patrons and I know several collectors who would love to own this vehicle!

As in any hobby, a thing is only worth what someone will pay. If it's listed at 5k and sells for 10k then the value is more

I have seen many hobby items "valued" at a certain price and sell for less than half that and some for twice tht price

From cars to property, fair market value is defined as the amount of cash, or terms reasonably equivalent to cash, that would change hands between a willing buyer and a willing seller, with both having full knowledge of the relevant facts and circumstances, and neither being compelled to act.

My family did not understand why I paid $40 for a 1972 Kings Island souvenir map, while I think it was a steal and love owning it. I don't understand why my sister buys so many shoes when two pairs of shoes (one pair of tennis shoes, one pair of dress shoes) are more than sufficient for me. I used to be a meter reader for a certain local utility some years ago. One of my routes was near and at KI, I had to go into the arts department barn where they refurbished signs, carousel horses, etc. But my favorite thing to see was one of the Smurfs, it was on the floor and had an opening in the back that showed the mechanics. If I could find one of these I would love to have it. I also saw three on a house near UC campus on the roof of the house, one was the skier leaning over the edge which I found quite amusing.
