I dont know if this topic has ever come up on KICentral.com, but has anybody ever heard of the books that R.L. Stine based on Kings Island called The Beast, and The Beast 2? Also if anybody knows about these books, were they ever sold at Kings Island? https://images.search.yahoo.com/images/view;_ylt=AwrB8p2vRGJTmQ0ACCaJzbkF;_ylu=X3oDMTIyOWtmaWxwBHNlYwNzcgRzbGsDaW1nBG9pZAMyZGQ4MzU2ZDc3ZTRiNzNiMDhhMTRmODE5MjQ5OGI4YQRncG9zAzQEaXQDYmluZw--?back=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3Fp%3Dthe%2Bbeast%2Brl%2Bstine%2Bbeast%2B2%26n%3D60%26ei%3Dutf-8%26fr%3Dsfp%26fr2%3Dsb-top%26tab%3Dorganic%26ri%3D4&w=316&h=464&imgurl=3.bp.blogspot.com%2F_MZb2WdpX5os%2FS-8UZa8csPI%2FAAAAAAAAA8E%2FSjLsjxFqts8%2Fs1600%2Fn31035.jpg&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Flittlemisszombie.blogspot.com%2F2010%2F05%2Frl-stine-book-of-week-beast.html&size=45.4KB&name=%3Cb%3ESTINE+%3C%2Fb%3EBOOK+OF+%3Cb%3ETHE+%3C%2Fb%3EWEEK%3A+%3Cb%3EThe+Beast%3C%2Fb%3E&p=the+beast+rl+stine+beast+2&oid=2dd8356d77e4b73b08a14f8192498b8a&fr2=sb-top&fr=sfp&tt=%3Cb%3ESTINE+%3C%2Fb%3EBOOK+OF+%3Cb%3ETHE+%3C%2Fb%3EWEEK%3A+%3Cb%3EThe+Beast%3C%2Fb%3E&b=0&ni=64&no=4&ts=&tab=organic&sigr=12dhg8vt6&sigb=13q44k6f4&sigi=12jt3h26v&sigt=11msd25p5&sign=11msd25p5&.crumb=sDd5zS36v5w&fr=sfp&fr2=sb-top

There used to be a book cover of the book in the drivers station window on The Beast. I think it has since been removed. R.L. Stine is from Columbus, Ohio.

I don't know if they were sold there but I had both as a kid and still have them somewhere.

I don't recall them being sold at the park either...but I own copies of both books as well. :D I prefer the first one to the second.

I remember reading the first one when I was in 7th grade. I thought I was the coolest kid in school because I was reading a book about The Beast. "Thought" being the keyword there. I wasn't aware there was a second one. I think that was the last year I read any R.L. Stine books before I figured I was getting too old for them.

They were sold in the park, at least the first one was. My one year working Merchandise (1994) I worked at The Leather Shop in Rivertown, which is now the building with the Olde Time Photos. We were also repsonsible for the merch cart at WWC's exit and the merch stand at the exit for The Beast (that stand is no longer there). Along with Beast shirts, magnets, cups, etc., we sold The Beast by R.L. Stine there. I read The Beast during one of my shifts out at that stand. (After a little bit of research, it looks like The Beast was first published in June 1994, so it was brand new that summer. The Beast 2 didn't come out until 1995.)

One day last year GatorGirl came home from school all excited. She said "Guess what book I got from the library today!" and pulled The Beast 2 out of her backpack. All three of us read it that week, but she still hasn't read the first one. Hmmm... birthday gift?

Dont think you can ever get too old for R.L. Stine books.

I read both books in middle school, I believe. Might have been late elementary. I remember enjoying the first much more than the second. I also remember seeing them for sale in the park. They were in Beast's drive box for a very long time. I know they were there still in 2009.

14 year old me didn't think that. I was really in a hurry to grow up.

I remember reading those as a kid. And agree with everyone else that the first was much better. Been awhile sine I have read them though.

And I agree you don't get too old for R.L. Stine. MY roommate and I started binge watching Goosebumps last year when it got added to Netflix. Still not as good as Are You Afraid of the Dark> but that's what Amazon Prime is for.

I also at least the first one in elementary school. I credit Goosebumps with getting me into horror. I wish I still had my copy. I think I sold it in a garage sale.

R.L. is a friend. He grew up in Columbus but lives in NYC now. I asked him where I can find a copy of The Beast 2 as I never got the chance to read it. He said he didn't even have a copy of it, haha. He said he remembers when he was prepping to write the book, they put him on the ride several times. He then commented it was one of the most "hair-raising" moments of his life because he doesn't usually ride coasters ;)

So if anyone has an extra copy of part 2, let me know!

Read both books, 1st in elementary, 2nd in middle. I've read several Goosebumps books, I didn't kno R.L. was from Ohio . (more reason to support him)

Call me a grumpy old man but began reading The Beast once and thought it was plain silly.

Well it is a book targeted towards young readers.... A generation, such as myself, grew up on RL Stine. He was able to write books that were on the edge of horror for the young generation. If I were to go back and read Goosebumps for the first time, I would probably not find them nearly as enjoyable. Then again, maybe I would.
