ERT (Early Ride Time) 2014

Featured Replies

I was wondering when Kings Island opened for ERT this year? My sister said it was an hour early (9am) but I thought I kept seeing 9:30am like 2013 season.

  • Banshee will be the most demanded ride this year, and KI is delivering. The park will get complaints from some individuals no matter what they do.

Diamondback will not be part of the early rides lineup this year.

Its only 30 mins again this year. I requested it be moved back to an hour like previous years (still an hour at CP) seeing as how 30 min's barely gets you enough time to get 1 maybe 2 rides in before

A half an hour before the scheduled opening for the general public. I.e. If the park opens at 10, ERT is 9:30. If it opens at 12, ERT is at 11:30.

Which rides are on it this year? I know Banshee is but what else?

Only Banshee has been officially announced. I'd bet there'll be at least one more major attraction, but nothing for sure yet.

Until people complain that Diamondback isn't included and it gets changed like in 2011...

-homestar92, still angry about how short lived Vortex ERT was...

I would hope they would alternate rides like Action Zone & rivertown.

Action Zone and Rivertown are..... yadda, yadda, yadda... You get the gist. :P

Actually, Rivertown and Action Zone aren't registered trademarks of Cedar Fair, but they should still be capitalized anyways because they're proper nouns.

Those definitely are trademarks, which should be used properly, even though they are not registered trademarks.

Most likely the ERT rides would be (Possibly) Invertigo, Delirium, The Beast, Diamondback and Banshee (Confirmed)

Thanks for that link.

Any distinctive name, symbol, or word is designated as trademarked with the symbol TM.

..however I've never seen any park area with that symbol next to the name, whether it be on the map or a sign. In order for a name to be a trademark, does the TM symbol need to be next to the name?

Or a © symbol.

No, that's for indicating copyright, which is a completely different concept from trademarks.

I bet that The Bat will be part of ERT since it is a "new" attraction. Just a guess though.

ERT I doubt it. Last year was almost walk on everytime I rode it. You never know though.

It's possible that there might not be a lot of people in line for The Bat this season, but I think the rebranding and location next to Banshee will help the popularity of the ride.

It is not necessary that a trademark be registered, nor that TM be used beside it. Both are methods of demonstrating the user claims a trademark, but such visible indication is not necessarily necessary.

Let's not go off topic to try figuring out if a non-trademarked name is to be capitalized. If it's a name, it's capitalized. Simple as that. Now let's talk about ERT, not Trademarks.

Please don't overuse it, however. Capitalizing every single word in a sentence is unnecessary. :)
