Hi! Ok, so I was wondering what time does the Parking Lot open for parking on opening day? As well as Drop Off/Pick up? My mom was going to drop my friends and I off at 9:30ish and we were wondering if we would be able to wait in line to go into the park around that time. Or would we have to wait later until they open the parking lot/ Drop off?

That information has yet to be released. The park doesn't even open till noon on opening day.

I know that. I'm still going early to beat the crowds.

The parking lot typically opens an hour or so before guests are allowed in the park. If there's ERT, expect the lot to open at 10:30. Otherwise, plan on 11.

Depending on how traffic is that morning they could open the lot earlier as well. They don't want huge traffic jams of people waiting to get into the park.

I had the same idea lol.

Last year, there was one car sitting at the gate in front of the south entrance at 6:00 AM.

This year, I would expect a few hundred at that time.

And last year, the park opened two hours earlier than this opening day.

And last year, the park opened two hours earlier than this opening day.

Frankly, I don't think the masses wanting to be the first on Banshee will care about that.

Many of the masses will be working. Others will be observing a very important religious holiday.

And weather...matters.

I don't think that will matter.

For you. For many, it will.

It certainly matters at Carowinds.

Hurler and Afterburn are awesome, for the record.

It won't matter for me. I wont be at opening day. I don't think it will matter a lot of people will still show up at first light to wait.

I know several people who attend opening day every year that assumed it was on the last Saturday in April again this year until I told them the correct date. So it is also possible that people who do not regularly check the website will simply not know when the park opens.

The new coaster will bring out the crowd on opening day.

Last season was pretty busy on opening day. I ended up getting a Fast Lane. (and an evac off BackLot!)

It will be a glorious day filled with fun and thrills!! Park opens at 12 noon, ERT starts at 11:30 and it will be most likely 90% season pass holders and that 10% out of town people just to be there for Banshee for the crowd mix, Tolls usually open 90 minutes prior to park opening, so plan on 10:30 or if your dropping off it can be anytime at the drop off lot.
