Is it possible not to get drenched on White Water Canyon, or is it possible not to get soaked on Congo Falls?

Featured Replies

I have made it 5 consecutive cycles on White Water Canyon without getting wet. But the sixth cycle...

Let's say it got its revenge.

White Water Canyon is like playing Russian Roulette.

More often than not, you are going to get wet.

With Congo Falls, you can avoid getting drenched by strategically sitting in the Boat.

I only get wet on Congo Falls since my Wife won't ride it so I have to take the kids while she gets drenched on White Water Canyon.

It really depends. With both of them- I'm going to sound crazy- but I swear if I am taking someone on it for the first time and I tell them they won't get wet- they get soaked and vice versa. It's a real dilemma.

I hate walking around in wet shoes. No water rides for me

I usually lift my feet slightly off the floor of the boat in the wetter parts of WWC. It helps immensely with this problem, but it isn't quite a perfect method.

Stand on the bridge and watch the ride come down beneath you. Perfectly safe dry spot.

I've made it off White Water Canyon almost completely dry, save for some water in my shoes. To which I was disappointed, because it was a billion-kazillion degrees, and I desperately wanted to be drenched in cold water.

I've walked off both rides nearly completely dry, and I've walked off both rides completely drenched.

simple solution to the shoes problem - buy a good pair of sandals (non-leather) that are good for weather. For example, Teva brand mountain climbling sandals. They can be worn on all roller coasters and both WWC and CF

There is only one sure way NOT to get drenched on both rides and that is not to ride them. If it is a hot day, then I want to ride them to cool off. I just make sure my valuables and money are protected from getting wet. I know once jeans get soaked, it might take a while for them to dry off and if the temperature is cool, you will feel cold until they dry. But as far as which one will get you more drenched, I would say it is White Water Canyon.

I just put my feet up or leave the shoes behind

how do you get away with that? Every time I ride either ride, someone tries it and gets told to put their shoes back on.

I haven't on those I generalized. Cedar Point is where I've done the no shoe thing.

I've seen people wearing ponchos on White Water Canyon. I never understood that.

My logical thinking is if you don't want to get wet don't go on a water ride, I don't care if it is a ride you haven't done lol

^ Is that why you chose to stay behind and soak us instead on Banshee's announcement day? (You missed out!)

I had no particular desire to get wet that day, yet I still rode. I don't think anyone in the KIC group really wanted to get wet on Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown on Closing Day, but that didn't stop people.

Sometimes, a ride is worth more than the physical effects it may (or may not) have.

I get cold very easily so the idea of going on WWC did not thrill me, though I gotta say I honestly don't remember that now lol It's lots of fun soaking people who go on WWC. I went on RFYLCB because that ride doesn't get you that wet lol

I've found that sitting in the center of the front row of Congo Falls does not get you wet. Of course, that was one ride that took place a few seasons ago, so I could be wrong.

I've always gotten wet on White Water Canyon, with very, very few of those just being my shoes getting soaked.

I suspect Mr. ohiocolts would NOT agree with you. At all.

Congo Falls is a fickle machine. Usually, sitting in the front row, I just get a thick mist and don't really get what I would call "soaked" (though the bridge takes care of that :P). However, on seemingly random occasions, the wave will bounce off of the bottom of the bridge and back down onto the boat, totally drenching you from head to toe. You never know when it will do that to you.

RFYLCB looks like some innocent kiddie ride. But then you sit in front of 3 guys including an Interpreter and you will get drenched. I'll stay away from that ride at all costs next season.

^^ The rest of us in that log didn't get very wet. It probably wasn't fair to leave the front seat for you after making it heavy with 3 adults. :) (Should've boarded quicker!)

Next time, perhaps you can send Terp, Goki32, or myself to the front.

Good Luck with sending me to the front. Did that at Dorney once. I think I'm still wet!

And that day at KI, I got very wet. Just not as wet as the little guy in front of me.
