The Bat Trains

Featured Replies

I seriously doubt they were auctioned. Given that Vortex was part of an arrangement after the prototype The Bat didn't operate satisfactorily, I'd not be surprised had Arrow taken them back for study and eventual salvage.

Didn't they auction off some of The Bat heads though? I could have sworn I'd seen one on eBay years ago. That of course isn't the actual train, but decoration.

The heads from the trains may have been auctioned off, I remember reading something about that of some sort (or it could have been the castings), but that doesn't mean the trains were auctioned.

I think they should revisit that with the current cars if possible. I mean, it won't be the best Gun Deck Bat ever without it.

I don't think with keeping the current trains (from Top Gun to Flight Deck to now The Bat) that is an option. They'd have to re-do the fiberglass to even attach The Bat heads. The cars may be a little bit closer together than the original The Bat trains too, as they were a prototype, so having a bat head per each car to me, wouldn't be possible.

Not trying to shoot your idea or thoughts down, as I'd like to see it too, but it doesn't look to be possible.

I had no high hopes of it happening, just another thing on my wish list.

I once heard Charlie Dinn had owned one of The Bat lead cars and it was in storage. However that may be a myth.
