My father who past away 7 years ago this year, this was his ride. He didn't care to wait 2 hours to ride he loved to ride The Beast and enjoyed it every time, and with my kids grown old enough now to ride, it would have been a sight seeing 3 generations riding The Beast.

I wanted to know the exact same thing, as I hadn't heard anything from or about him recently so I decided to ask Don back in November and this is what he had to say......

Carl is retired and living near Maysville, Ky. With the 2014 season marking the 35th anniversary of The Beast, he'll be heard from again.

I suspect a gentleman will probably be at Media Day....

Probably deals with FUN TV that we've heard of on here... Or is it KI TV since the website says so? Perhaps there'll be some behind the scenes footage seen soon.

I'd bet there may be cameras, no dip, specifically for KI TV at media day for Banshee... Not that you'd know the difference between what camera is for what..

Interview with a show that airs nationally. The reporter for the feature was off to the right side of the camera asking questions.

Our Town Magazine just did a great feature on The Beast's 35th anniversary.

Will there most likely be more Beast Tour dates happening this year due to it's anniversary?

The Beast was "unchained" on this date in 1979.

It may be because i think they're only running two trains.

If the block is clear the train will run full speed until it hits lift crest, which I prefer to experience, I'm not much for lollygagging on the lift

I keep on hearing that The Beast was renovated by GCI during the off-season from lots of people on facebook and other forum websites. Is this true?

I thought everything was done in-house by KI? And it's not listed on GCI's website under their list of projects.

I was disapointed on the lack of 35th Anniversary merchandise. I hope they will sell some at some point. They have always had shirts, hats, shot glasses etc. But none was to be found this past weekend, I checked in all of the shops.

Yep, Anniversary thunder stolen, once again. Its a shame too, considering my Beast ride taken on Friday was without a doubt the BEST ride Ive taken on it since my first trip to KI back in 06. Seriously, its running that well.

Although a 35th anniversary POV has been released by the park / Don Helbig (and posted in another topic). Theme Park Review has just released their 35th anniversary Beast POV that was recorded just days ago.

As of last week, there has been no signs of 35th anniversary Beast merchandise, unfortunately.

Bummer I hope to see some. I wanna purchase something that has The Beast 35th.
