January 21, 201412 yr So am I correct in assuming that this $9 membership is for a standard membership, and not the platinum? Correct, standard membership.
January 21, 201412 yr A bit off track but Coaster Crew put up a "new" video just a couple of days ago, and I figured some KIC members would like it. I thought this was kind of cool, but I don't think it's worth starting a new thread, also it's a bit ironic: Also, is media day gonna be during the day or night this year? never have attended media day. Or is it on April 17th, with the fundraiser? Eww, Coney Mall with blacktop. Not a memory I enjoy reliving.
January 22, 201412 yr So would my family and I be able to purchase a family membership with the KIC/ Coaster Crew alliance?
January 22, 201412 yr Author Yep. Gotta be a kic member by Friday and have your CC membership in order by media day.
January 22, 201412 yr Ok. Trying to order the membership now, but where do I go for the family membership?
January 22, 201412 yr Would my family members have to be kic members too? -sorry, last question. EDIT- The situation has been taken care of.
January 22, 201412 yr Thanks for this opportunity, I am now a member of 2 coaster clubs From looking at this and other posts, I think we're going to have a lot of people on KIC belonging to both GOCC and Coaster Crew.
January 23, 201412 yr Just registered for CoasterCrew as well as RSVP'd for the media event, cannot wait to see everyone bright and early at 4:30 AM!
January 23, 201412 yr GOCC and CC just seems to make sense haha. Supporting 2 great clubs is a no brainer in my mind.
January 23, 201412 yr Just registered for CoasterCrew as well as RSVP'd for the media event, cannot wait to see everyone bright and early at 4:30 AM! Hello everyone. I signed up with the CoasterCrew but can't find where to RSVP for the media event. Help? Thanks.
January 23, 201412 yr Don't know if anyone would be able to answer this, but I RSVP'd under the Coasterbuzz club. I just realized my card is expired and was going to renew before media day. However, with this opportunity I want to join CC. Can I just join CC and use that for what I already registered for? Or should I re-RSVP and select CC?
January 23, 201412 yr If you renew in a manner that will get you an updated card before media day, i'd say just use that. Not sure how multiple club registration would work.

You should have a valid membership to the club that you RSVP'd under. As I understand it, this will be strictly enforced. If you are thinking of attending events such as Beast Buzz at Kings Island or HoliWood Nights at Holiday World, make sure that you are signed up with a club at the right level.
January 24, 201412 yr Author If anyone has RSVP'ed for media day under CC but their membership hasn't been paid for by Friday, we will be working with the park to remove those names from the media day list as those people are not valid members of The Coaster Crew. Remember you must be able to show a valid approved Coaster Club Membership card or you will be turned away on media day. If you do not pay for the Coaster Crew membership, you will not receive a card.
January 24, 201412 yr If I want to join coaster crew but can't go to Banshee media day. Is there no point to join coaster then?
January 24, 201412 yr If I want to join coaster crew but can't go to Banshee media day. Is there no point to join coaster then? There are events thrown throughout the year, so I would say join anyway. There is so much cool stuff planned. I actually joined CC and GOCC because of the people and the events being planned. Its going to be an exciting summer!
January 24, 201412 yr If I want to join coaster crew but can't go to Banshee media day. Is there no point to join coaster then? It's also worth to note, that Coaster Crew does get you into Coastermania (as in previous years we hope), there are a few events held at Kings Island and Cedar Point.
January 24, 201412 yr Coaster Crew does get you into Coastermania (as in previous years we hope) Yes, it does: https://www.cedarpoint.com/online-fun/coastermania-
January 24, 201412 yr I joined CC for the Cedar Point activities that are going on. I'd love to go to Banshee media day, but Cedar Point is closer than Kings Island for me. I'm planning on Going to all of the events at Cedar Point that I can.
January 24, 201412 yr I just renewed my Coasterbuzz membership and I'm going to do the CC membership a little later today. Never hurts to have options and they are both good deals with great communities.
January 24, 201412 yr If I want to join coaster crew but can't go to Banshee media day. Is there no point to join coaster then? Banshee is a registered trademark. Please capitalize it and all ride names at Kings Island. Thanks.
January 24, 201412 yr Joined and paid. Will not be attending Media Day however as I can only take off one day that week and spending time with my family on Opening Day takes precedence. Even if one attends no club events, I figurere the money generated still helps the club to grow and provide further opportunities.

Please capitalize it and all ride names at Kings Island. Thanks. According to this, Banshee is not registered yet. It has only had a "notice of allowance" issued, whatever that means.
January 24, 201412 yr It means that the mark is also eligible for patent protection as well. The notice gives the applicant 90 days to pay any fees associated with the patent.
January 24, 201412 yr It means that the mark is also eligible for patent protection as well. The notice gives the applicant 90 days to pay any fees associated with the patent. ...huh? How can a trademark be eligible for patent protection? I thought they were two totally different things.
January 24, 201412 yr They are, but oftentimes, people will seek patent protection as well. Patents give the user the exclusive enjoyment of their work for a set number of years (14 plus a renewal of another 14 years) before falling into the public domain. It is often used in prescription drugs where a drug will be found to have more than one use, therefore making it eligible for another patent (example--Cialis--which is used to treet erectile dysfunction but has recently been found to help w migraine headaches as well). In Banshee's case, time will tell what the park has in mind.
