September 24, 201312 yr I'd sooner let Bart Kinzel pour a bucket of water over my head, which I'm sure he'd love to do. For dear old Dad's sake, and all...
September 24, 201312 yr Hey I know this topic has been dead for a while, but I thought I'd bring it back. I know everyone complains about Shoot the Rapids, but what about Pilgrims plunge? That ride is an Intamin as well, does that ride have any issues with it compared to Shoot the Rapids? Very very very few rides at all have issues that compare to the Shoot the Rapids'. Batman and robin: The Chiller by premier is the biggest bust of all time.
September 24, 201312 yr Well that might be a little over-exaggerated, right? Opened late, and was modified ten years later before it was decided to remove the ride for various reasons, including a few "growing pains" problems here and there. Biggest bust of all time? Wellll... I'm not fanboy of Premier, and I'm not defending The Chiller. But biggest bust of all time? How many died on it? How many had an aneurism? How many lawsuits? How many tens of millions of dollars invested in fixing it? I truly don't know, I'm asking you to clarify for me since it's the biggest bust of all time and certainly that means at least one of those questions has a notable answer.
September 24, 201312 yr It only ran both sides for like a total of 30 days in its existence. Premier screwed up on the lims causting catastrophic power failures in the park. The mr. freezes has had more downtime than I305/millennium force/El TORO/TTD/KA combined.
September 26, 201312 yr Not true. I rode both sides during most of my many trips to Great Adventure back then. Source, please? You have not even mentioned the actual reason for the removal, which I will not be posting here. Sigh.
September 29, 201312 yr ^ Awesome! I found someone else on here that likes Shoot the Rapids. Yeah I hope they can fix the issues too and have this open in spring 2014. That ride won't truly be"fixed" until they deal with the balancing issues.
September 29, 201312 yr The ride won't truly be fixed if they don't fix the falling off the lift issue lmao
September 29, 201312 yr I am surprised s&s/sensai has not been defunked. Their failures include Invertigos, and hypersonic xlc.
September 29, 201312 yr I am surprised s&s/sensai has not been defunked. Their failures include Invertigos, and hypersonic xlc.Huh? Invertigo is Vekoma.Defunked?
September 29, 201312 yr They have made a few errors just like intamin...however their space shot, turbo drop, combo, and screaming swings are beautifully reliable and redundant..
September 29, 201312 yr Their slingshot towers that were unsafe. That was VertiGo. It was never established they were unsafe. Cedar Point had removed the ride vehicle for the winter, which was designed to buttress stability. Without it, the tower partly collapsed.
September 29, 201312 yr No, Intamin is not dying. Bahahahaha. What started the thought of this? Competition from Mack and other companies? Competition will make the company stronger and smarter.
September 29, 201312 yr Stud go look at the list of defunct intamin rides...many are 10yr and younger... Stud again your posts here were usually quite positive and rewarding here, but recently has seemed to take a nose dive and I have been one to usually back you on many many scenarios... Don't know what's happened...starting to disappoint me
September 29, 201312 yr Not true. I rode both sides during most of my many trips to Great Adventure back then. Source, please? You have not even mentioned the actual reason for the removal, which I will not be posting here. Sigh. He won't list sources because he doesn't have any. All he has is poking and prodding to keep a topic "interesting" to him.
September 29, 201312 yr The ride won't truly be fixed if they don't fix the falling off the lift issue lmao What I meant by that is that there is more wrong with it than the accident that shut it down. lol
September 29, 201312 yr To bad ride operations was at fault for perilous plunge. http://articles.latimes.com/2001/sep/27/local/me-50507
September 29, 201312 yr That's what INTAMIN nearly always claims. Then they wonder why parks are now buying from others.
September 29, 201312 yr Operator error didn't cause the numerous cable breaks, falling off of lift hill, no restraint evac, collissions between blocks, brake failures. Ect...
