Gatekeeper Documentary

Featured Replies

Devin Olson Media is at it again with another documentary. I got a chance to meet Devin at Busch Gardens this year, and he and his crew are great.

Enjoy From Dreams to Screams: Gatekeeper

I'm in this video at the 8:20 mark!

That's cool how you were in there, Cedar Points landscape will never be the same without the space needle.

I also saw that documentary- it made Gatekeeper look awesome, and gave a good idea on how a coaster goes from concept to construction to reality...and while the removal of Space Spiral has changed the "landscape" at Cedar Point, true, Gatekeeper also brought its own massive landscape changes with it as well, even if SS could have somehow been saved (I fail to see how it was ever in Gatekeeper's way, though I am guessing it's removal had to due more with age and decreasing popularity as the video suggested) and GK still built where it currently sits- especially given the modifications to the new entrance and the keyholes. (I'd also suggest removing bobsled-in-a-box affected the landscape more than removing Space Spiral)

Awesome video!

^And if SS wouldn't have been removed, it also would have been very cramped near GK. Plus there wouldn't be that shaded plaza area outside the Coke Freestyle and Frozen Yogurt place. Yes, it was a Cedar Point icon, but sometimes things must be removed for the better, as heard in the video.

If you guys want more, the same people made an Outlaw Run documentary, along with many others.

I like that the one guy likes to see people get off from the coasters happy, that's his idea of success.
