Best Way to Ride

Featured Replies

Before I start, I must say this is all just opinion.

Okay. Here's how I do Diamondback every time.

  1. Get on back seat on the left.
  2. Leave about an inch between the lap bar and your waist.
  3. Keep hands and feet up during entire ride.
  4. Turn around.
  5. Watch the track fly by behind you throughout ride.
  6. Smile for the Camera.
  7. Look at the water shoot during the splashdown.
  8. Get soaked.

Looking Backwards on this ride is the most terrifying thing you can encounter in the entire park. (Especially on the first drop)

Don't believe me?

Try it.

As for Vortex, try back seat blindfolded. Holy crap it's fun.

But enough of my opinion. How do you ride the coasters at KI? (or anywhere else) Any special techniques?

I'm going to ride Diamondback while looking back on the first drop. That does sound kind of scary.

I can only ride most rides in the front seat, other than that, I have no specific way of riding.

I ride the way I'm instructed to. :P Kidding, I found some neat ways to ride Diamondback.

1. Back seat, left, hands & legs up

2. Throw the camera the Devil horns

3. Hands up and lean as far as possible to the left while going through the helix and through the splashdown.

4. You are soaked. Mission accomplished. :D

Diamondbacks water smeels a little funky.I stay away from the very back since I got wet and smelled like vomit all day.

Stand on the platform of Eiffel Tower. Look down at that water. Why would anyone want that stuff on them? Yuck.

Not to mention that riders who follow the instructions are at most going to get a few drops of water, not soaked.

How often is Diamondback's splashdown checked for pH and chlorine levels? The water shouldn't smell like vomit if the pH is kept around 7 and is properly chlorinated.

I have never had a vomit smell after getting wet on the ride, walking by the pond, or going through. If we wanna speak dirty water, don't even get me started on the Log Flume at Camden Park, that water reaaaaaakkkkkks!

Never ride Diamondback with Gator.

By the way, nearly everyone who walks the midway by Diamondback's splashdown gets that stuff on them.

As Terp said, there's no intended body contact with the water. It might be chlorinated, but I highly doubt alkilinity is maintained.

Even when there is intended contact, treatment standards are much lower when water interaction is limited. (i.e. flume rides, White Water Canyon)

Yes Log flume water is 10x worse lol. Camden is park unique. Being from ashland, I make a few trips there with the kidos.

I mostly ride in the back... But I usually catch myself looking at my friend that's sitting next to me instead haha. The reaction on peoples faces is something I cant resist to miss xD haha.

.

Hands up Legs up on Diamondback. On the airtimes hills I reach my arms above my head and then flap downwards to be as weightless as possible.

The even numbered rows towards the back are best for this.

Also prefer left side.
