June 27, 201313 yr I found an awesome FB page that has photos of abandoned theme parks all across the world. I find it incredibly fascinating and I have spent far too long already going through the albums. https://www.facebook.com/AbandonedThemeParks/photos_albums Just wanted to share with fellow enthusiasts. Enjoy.
June 28, 201313 yr Nice find. Also look at this link to a previous started thread http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/27137-creepy-abandoned-theme-parks/?hl=%20abandoned%20%20theme%20%20park And our very own Gordon Bombay has a super wonderful website. http://queencitydiscovery.blogspot.com/ I have not seen a place with better pictures than his! Welcome BTW
June 28, 201313 yr I found that page a few weeks ago too! Been loving looking through and I so want to go on an expedition! I think Spree Park in Germany does concerts and guided tours amoungst the rubble now. That might be on the cards... Has anyone been for a nose around Americana? Wonder what's been done or removed recently?
June 28, 201313 yr I flew over the former Hard Rock Park in Myrtle Beach Wednesday. Things are starting to get overgrown and rusty. I wonder how long rides can sit out in the weather with no maintenance before they become unsalvagable? The Led Zepplin Coaster has/had to be worth something other than scrap. Sad and a little bit spooky all rolled up into one.
June 28, 201313 yr Abandoned waterparks are always the creepiest! I'm sure glad The Beach re-opened...
June 29, 201313 yr Am I the only one that didn't know about The Beastie at wonderland? Same sign and everything. I always thought we had a Beastie because of The Beast. So I guess I was wrong?
June 29, 201313 yr This is a great resource page! Thanks for pointing it out I spent a few hours pilfering the pics and info as well! I used to frequent defunctparks.com, but I don't believe they've updated their information in years.
June 29, 201313 yr Awesome find. I loved using defunctparks.com, but as you said jandyb79, not updated at all recently. Still cool none-the-less.

We went to an amusement park, that was a small park with about 3 coasters and a bunch of nice flat rides. The park was called Magic Harbor. Does anyone remember this park? I have tried to find photos, with no luck.

If you scroll down quite a ways on the page on the link there's some pictures of the park and another link to some others. I would've replied sooner but I kept looking at other tidbits. http://htomc.dns2go.com/myrtle/

Myrtle Beach was my families favorite destination throughout the 70's-90's and my parents took my sister and I to Magic Harbor in 1991. This was actually how I found defunctparks.com back in 2000. To date, I haven't turned up much information on that park. I have some family photos of it, but they are few and far between. The park had a very enchanted, yet creepy, vibe to it as I recall.
June 30, 201313 yr My curiosity peaked this afternoon while thinking about Magic Harbor and I came across this blog that copies the synopsis of that park on defunctparks.com, yet several old employees, including the owners son, chime in about its history. These entries are pretty interesting for those who have researched the park and have come up short handed: http://strangetalespodcast.wordpress.com/2007/04/09/magic-harbor-myrtle-beach-sc/
