Allusions/ "Easter Eggs" at Kings Island

Featured Replies

Well, the title says it all. This is the place to post any allusions that you see at Kings Island, (if you do not know what an allusion is, a allusion is something in a place, or a piece that references to something else) please note to keep things to the present time, you may use last year in the off season. Almost like a easter egg hunt ;)

A allusion that I personally saw last year was basically allusions to Phantom Theater's take down from the MF's where the characters were wrapped up, and allusions more to the Beach Boys songs in SC, from the names on a few places in the waterpark.

Why don't you start us off with an example so we know what you're talking about?

AKA, the title doesn't say it all for everyone.

EDIT: I see you've gone ahead and added "allusions" to your original post. Noted.

EDIT 2: As well as some triple-emphasized text! Helpful.

EDIT 3: And now a definition. "...something in a place, or a piece that references to something else."

I wouldn't say the Phantom Theater props were an allusion to anything. The props were repurposed. That's it.

Yes, I thought that using the terms "Allusions" and "Easter Eggs" that one would think of things that are placed into KI that reference to other things, being a common word in my mind, I inferred that others would know of the terms at hand. BB1 who uses his vocabulary......often

the names on a few places in the waterpark.

Like "Breakers Bay"? (An allusion to the Hotel Breakers at CP)

Or, slightly off-topic, "Hurricane Hannah's" waterpark at Geauga Lake in 2004, renamed from (Six Flags') Hurricane Harbor. (An allusion to the snack bar near CP's front gate)

I believe it is called Beast Canyon Drinks or something back in River town. Alluding to the prowling creature not to far ahead up the midway.

I wouldn't say the Phantom Theater props were an allusion to anything. The props were resurfaced. That's it.

Yes and no. When they put the props out for Haunt, that's just recycling old props... when they have them covered but you can, if you know the park, tell what they are (like last year) I could see the argument for that being an Easter egg.

Are there Phantom Theater props being used in the park? If so, where? I'd like to look for them this season :)

^They've brought them out for Haunt the past several years. A few years ago the figures were on the bandstand at the end of the fountain, last year they were over in Rivertown.

The furnace from Phantom Theater is used in Slaughter House. "How about some HEAT?"
