Bainbridge can't even widen a road or help develop tourist amenities. To see them run an amusement park. Oh boy...

Many object to the "gentle correction" those systems deliver. I've often wished it worked on park linejumpers!

Meijer would be making a major investment. Wanting exclusivity is not all unusual or crazy. Selling a roller coaster on one's real property without specifying a time by which it must be removed? Tha

A local park could maybe thrive around there.

Here in Cincy we have one that’s small only a handful of rides. Many feel if Americans had an effort it could have survived. It’s all about knowing your audience and catering to that audience. If you don’t you fail.

I think there is at least some market for a Stricker's Grove-sized park up there near where Geauga Lake was, but who knows how big it could actually get at this point. If Ohioans think Six Flags is running Cedar Point and Kings Island into the ground, maybe they'll start going to a new GL and it'll be a nice little regional park in 20 years. Just in time for Six Flags v8.0 to buy it up and run it right back into the ground from whence it came! Just kidding ;) I'm sure someone will have understood the Six Flags curse by then and changed the company's name altogether.

The site redevelopment is looking good from the photos I've seen so far. Lots of new housing, including a ton over on the old SeaWorld Ohio parking lot. The municipal park that's supposed to take over Wildwater Kingdom also looks very promising. I think all that's left of the park is all of the water, some of the parking lots, and the part between where Villain and Dominator used to reside.

I wonder if anyone still has a trademark on the Geauga Lake name or if they could pull off a Coney Island-Kings Island type deal... Things to ponder.

I don't think I have ever heard anyone say that a housing development looks good ...and personally from the photos I've seen...its an eyesore. Cookie-cutter, low quality builds that are over-priced that won't stand the test of time in years to come. Nothing attractive about that IMO, I'd have rather seen the entire plot of land be returned back to nature and become a nature preserve instead of another crappy HOA. I'm glad some of the land will be salvaged for public use and the wave pool/tri-quarium will supposedly be seeing new life again. I'd make a special trip up there for that just to relive what little is left. But yeah. If it were up to me I'd have bought up all the land, busted up the concrete on one side of the park-preferably the lot in worse shape, laid down dirt and planted tons of trees and turn it into a park space for people to explore and enjoy.

Not everything needs to turn into a housing edition. Just sayin'!

Hopefully they can save the aquarium and Seaport Village buildings in some way. It would be nice to have recreational activity in them again like a small eatery or concession stand for the new park.

Don't get me wrong, I also hate that kind of cookie cutter housing. The site redevelopments look good in that there's something being done instead of just leaving the foundations of everything there. Either a nature reserve or a new park would have been better than what's going there.

Since contemporary condo construction is so bad, maybe when all the little issues kill it in 20 years someone can buy up the land and rebuild Geauga Lake! (I'm only kidding a little for this one too, I wish they could bring it back.)
