Big crowds on Saturday 10/6

Featured Replies

I've heard from multiple people that the park is expecting something like 60,000 people this Saturday. Anyone know why this is? I was going to go, but should I just stay away? And sorry, I've never had an account on here or posted, but I read the forums a lot.

Big crowds are expected, but as for why, who knows. I would go either Friday or Sunday or come EARLY on Saturday.

For what it's worth, Great Adventure is expecting record breaking crowds Saturday. So is Six Flags America. And Six Flags Over Georgia.

Terp, who finds out things the darnest ways sometimes.

And sorry, I've never had an account on here or posted, but I read the forums a lot.

Wait...You've never had an account here? A member by the name of "purplehaze" was a member in the past, and you are coincidentally "purplehazee"

Hm...

Haha, well I can tell you that I first tried "purplehaze", but it was taken... not by me. Sorry to disappoint...or perhaps the opposite.

All employees have been told to park in the softball field instead of the regular employee parking lot for October 6 and October 13 due to the expected larger than usual crowds. Nothing yet on the rest of the Saturdays in the month.

I would say it will be slow that day considering the high will be in the high 50's.

Saturday? Cool weather normally brings out even bigger Haunt crowds.

Now, rain or snow is a whole 'nother story.

Rain is in the forecast last I heard.

All I know is my family and I go EVERY October and LAST October was the WORST I have EVER seen at Kings Island. We could barely MOVE in the park. I'm not kidding you. I'm scared that will happen again next weekend when we go. It's just absolutely TERRIBLY crowded. People are trying to use their passes for the last time (most of us for the season) and also people can go through MANY haunted attractions for WAY cheaper at KI than if they went in their town and paid $10 to $15 JUST to go through ONE haunted house. I'm serious...it's dang expensive to go to haunted houses but KI you can go through a decent amount of them all night long and they stay open late. Problem is the crowds are just unbelievable. We were baby stepping through the park last year because there wasn't much space left in the park that didn't have people standing there!!

We are going tomorrow, so add two more to that total. It is bound to be crowded, but this is the one Saturday I can squeeze in. Tomorrow I'll probably focus on the Haunts and mazes, because crowds mean more energy from the monsters.

Being a scaractor at KI, I think, is almost a form of vampirism. When the park is dead, the monsters aren't as lively as when there's more lifeforce from visitors. I'm looking at a glass half full; I'm bound to go through the haunts with someone who's fun to scare, and the creatures will be jumping.

I'll go on a Friday night later on to utilize the foggy rides.

You know, with all these large crowds we've witnessed from this year's Haunt so far and expectations of extreme crowds to come, its made me wonder. Is there a maximum limit to how many guests are allowed in the park at one time? I would think that too much overcrowding could eventually cause a serious saftey concern...

SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY!

You all enjoy the lunatic crowd sizes and silly mazes. I'll wait for the day of the week when they are non existent. October is the month when one can get so many rides it hurts.

Of course, now that I wrote that, the Sunday we go will actually have a large crowd.

Is saturday afternoon as crowded as saturday nights. I don't really like haunt type stuff I just want to enjoy the park. I'd try sunday if I didn't work.

How's the crowd forecast for Oct. 19th? I've decided on going there for my birthday. I can't commandeer the Dinosaur Birthday Booth, but I can have a funnel cake with a match stuck in the middle for a candle.

Shhhhhhhh....

Well ya, but I'm just saying. These Halloween Events bring in Large crowds.

And reasonably, there's no other way to even out the crowds, it's a case of "build it, and they will come." You can't add more days or hours. September is too early, and full of special events, plus, they need to build all the Halloween theming. More hours per Haunt doesn't balance out crowds, it adds. Many of the monsters have other jobs and/or school, so no Sundays. You can't cut into Howl-o-ween, especially as they've added so much, it's a big event.

When I was younger, and they didn't have passes, we dealt with crowds because that was life. The Halloween crowds are up there with the big vacation crowds when I was a kid. I should be used to it.
