As many of you know, KIextreme.com is a similar website to KIC. My question is why did it just die off? I mean, no one uses the Forums, the info is outdated.

So whatever happened?

In 2009 two of the key members left the site, and along with a stubborn admin (who didn't update), it was basically abandon.

I could go on and on

I never visited that site, but it is kinda sad to see a site just shut down. Coasterfanatics was my first fan site and now its just full of spam. Sad stuff.

Well I'm glad KIC is still up!

One of the reasons why I got a smart phone was to stay updated with KIC via Mobile internet.

^ I believe it still says new for 2007, Firehawk! At least it said that a little bit ago. Their is a bunch of small things that are not very important as well.

Overall I think this is a great site. Im also a member of KIE but dont really care for it that much....

They still have Son of Beast listed too! Wonder how long that will satay on here?

The way I see it is that this site is for the discussions. IF you want to find out whats at KI you should just go to their website. Also, if you are on this website you are probably very familiar with all the attractions/info on Kings Island anyway.

Kings Island Central has two great photo galleries

This gallery has relatively recent Kings Island photographs, including aerial views and construction photographs.

This much smaller gallery has historical photographs. Every one of the fourteen albums are well worth examining. Some photographs are of rides or attractions I have not seen depicted elsewhere.

There are a number of historical Kings Island brochures here.

I joined KIE back in 2010 and posted about 2 times. You would be lucky if there was even one other member online at a time. One thing I always loved about KIC is how it still attracts a large crowd and let's hope that never changes,

I noticed my coasterfanatics signature item was not loading, appears that site is officially dead.

To be fair, we do talk about other parks. Plus, if the members acted anything like those in TPR, I'd be extremely turned off from the site. TPR has great trip reports and POVs, but everything else has flaws extending from its users to its admins.

I was just pointing out that we have a big enough forum to be a big name amusement park fan site. Not suggesting that we should.

Also I'd say we have one of the best forum systems. Every forum I've been on doesn't even compete with the system implemented here.

Oddly enough, KIE used the same system.
