First Time Haunter. I Haz Questions.

Featured Replies

Let's begin fresh and give some suggestions.

On the Tombstone Haunt, I was trying to sneak ahead before something caught me, one cowboy came beside me and mimicked my behavior, asking, "Are we sneaking?" and made me laugh, put me off guard-

So a woman could slide in next to me as I was sneaking and scare me bejeezussless. I suspect it takes a lot of thinking on your toes to take advantage of every opportunity presented by a guest. This cowboy probably doesn't have a steady stream of guests snake walking along the bridge, but took the chance when he did see one. I did look cartoonish, and he acted on that.

As posted before me, being in character is needed, or else you're just a person in a Halloween suit.

Being that you've worked in different haunts before, you probably have a good idea of the 'types' of people that parade through, and can probably take advantage of the little universal quirks. You can set up a fool to laugh, then have another monster come in from the side. It works with other members of the group besides the initial fool, because other members are laughing at the funny antics, and are unprepared for a scare.

Working Haunt is not a easy job. Some leave after the first weekend or though the Haunt Season. Our supervisers tell us that it's not a cakewalk.
