June 20, 201214 yr So The Crypt is finally done (thank God) and will leave behind that empty building. What do you guys think should be put in there? Should the building be torn down, or converted into something else? What are some of your ideas?
June 20, 201214 yr Author Yes I read that too. It said that they plan on using the space for this season's Halloween Haunt. I was just wondering what people thought would be cool to put in this space eventually, when not being used for Halloween Haunt?
June 20, 201214 yr I would love for it to become some sort of flat (Flying Eagles anyone?). Or a ride like KCKC into the area, stretching back into the woods near The Beast, but the current plans sounds like a great idea for the moment.
June 20, 201214 yr anyone thought about another ride like FOF its honestly would fit really well if you expanded the ride a tad.

June 20, 201214 yr & what is KCKC? It was a log flume, it presided the RIPCrypt area. It was called Kentons Cove Keelboat Canal. See also http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/10502-kentons-cove-keelboat-canal-topic/
June 21, 201214 yr Hate to break it to you, but in the past, Cedar Fair has always turned to log flumes when they need to free up space for a new attraction. I doubt they'd spend precious real estate on a water ride... But then again, that was then, and this is now!
June 21, 201214 yr have they removed the actual ride itself? I don't recall exactly, but didn't they build the building around the ride- meaning they would have to modify said building to remove? I would love to see something "created" to take over the space that no other park has. just about all CF parks have WindSeeker. variations of delerium exist across the map. Firehawk is a "production" coaster. Kings Island isn't Disney; but one of the great things about those parks are- you can't find their rides anywhere else. and if there are variations, the theming makes it unique. I know, that's a tired conversation.

I think theming is one thing that's lacking on a lot of the rides at KI.
June 21, 201214 yr The Giant TopSpin has been removed. Disney rides ARE virtually replicated from park to park. See Tower of Terror, It's A Small World, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, the list goes on and on.
June 21, 201214 yr This is exactly what I was thinking of when I meant wild mouse. It seems like fun!
June 27, 201214 yr So The Crypt is finally done (thank God) Girl, you did not just say that. But put in a nice pond and trees, pork flavor!
June 27, 201214 yr Author So The Crypt is finally done (thank God) Girl, you did not just say that. But put in a nice pond and trees, pork flavor! Girl? I'm not a girl! And you can't disagree that that ride was starting to suck in recent years. I loved it as Tomb Raider, but that past couple of seasons have been just pathetic as The Crypt. No offense.
June 27, 201214 yr Voicetek, we have agreed on just about everything and that was another i would give you ten likes if i could but i can't even give you one right noe becuase iv'e used them all today.

June 27, 201214 yr Author On these forums it's hard to find people that agree with us newbies. Yeah what's up with that? Just cause I'm a newbie on here doesn't mean I'm a newbie to Kings Island. I've been going there for almost 30 years now! I feel like I've experienced the park (and the attractions) enough to form a valid opinion. Oh well

And you can't disagree that that ride was starting to suck in recent years. I loved it as Tomb Raider, but that past couple of seasons have been just pathetic as The Crypt. No offense. Sure, the ride cycle was a bit lackluster, but I always went because it was fun for me. I wasn't expecting anything big, so I was not let down each ride (I must have taken over 100 rides on it last season!), but rather surprised with the upkeep of what little they had. That's what won me over, not the dissappointment, but the surprise of the little things added. Could it have been improved? Heck yeah. Was it pretty good towards the end? For me, yeah. It was nowhere near my avatar, but at least we had something.
June 28, 201214 yr The Giant TopSpin has been removed. Disney rides ARE virtually replicated from park to park. See Tower of Terror, It's A Small World, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, the list goes on and on. i think i read about it being removed shortly after posting that. to the disney duplications: just using parks in the US. How many Tower of Terrors are there?: Two, and they're approximately 2500 miles apart on opposite coasts. Space Mountains: two. Small World: two. How many WindSeekers are there east of the Mississippi? Five. Dinosaurs Alive attractions east of the Mississippi: five. Vekoma Flying Dutchman Coasters cincinnati and east: three. That list goes on. Outside of Dinosaur's Alive- none of them are themed at all. Though Dinosaur's Alive is an intriguing attraction, I've been through it once and can't see myself paying the upcharge to do it again.
June 28, 201214 yr Firehawk's name fits to the X-Base area. The entrance and ride photo/exit area and the sign all seem to fit a government test facility (like Flight of Fear), so you can't really say that it isn't themed... It sorta is, but nowhere near Flight of Fear, or even Adventure Express.

Disney only has those two choices.Also- Disney is one of the most desired family vacation destinations in the World. Amusement parks draw guests from a much smaller distance radius.
June 28, 201214 yr Author I loved themed rides and I love animatronics...I always have. As primitive as they are, I love the natives in the final tunnel of Adventure Express. I think that's why I loved Phantom Theater so much as well as the previous dark rides including The Enchanted Voyage and The Smurfs. Also, I miss the animatronic people that used to be on the train ride. Does anyone else remember this? They had indians that would shoot at the people in the fort, they had some guy getting water dumped over him by a lady, and also some guy in the black smith shop pounding away at some metal. These additions made the train ride memorable.
June 28, 201214 yr ^NATIVE AMERICANS! Sorry, I hate it when people call Native Americans "Indians". They are not from India!
