May 31, 201214 yr Hello all! My friend had a defibrilator put in at the end of February. She has congestive heart failure due to H1N1 attacking her heart instead of her lungs. Her doctor said as long as she stays away from the rides with a harness restraint she should be okay, but I am worried about her. We're planning a trip with some friends, so my question is has anyone here rode with one and been okay? Or have a friend/family member that has? Thanks! Chrissy
May 31, 201214 yr I would be shocked to hear they said anything different than what can be found in the rider safety guidlines. http://www.visitking...afety_Guide.pdf
June 1, 201214 yr yes guest relations will ask your friend a series of questions and then give her a piece of paper with what is safe to ride.
June 1, 201214 yr I would be weary of riding any ride if I had congestive heart failure with a defibulator. Just doesn`t seem worth the risk to me, and those of you who know me, know that I pretty much live for amusement parks and roller coasters.
June 1, 201214 yr I would recommend sticking to the "ultra tame" rides - Boo Blasters, Carousel, Sally's Sea Plane, Shake Rattle & Roll, WindSeeker, Woodstock's Whirly Birds and Zephyr. However, as others have suggested, it's best to get the advice of the folks in Guest Services as well.
June 1, 201214 yr I have heard that getting a shock from a defibrillator is very painful. I wouldn't think you would want to risk having it happen on a ride.
June 1, 201214 yr I was just thinking: KI used to have a ride that could stop your heart, and start it as well....
