The 2011 version of Mitch Hawker's Wooden Coaster Poll is now open and accepting ballots until January 20th! This is (in my own humble opinion) a much more accurate poll than most seen in the industry. The more ballots the better the results so be sure to get yours in!

I'll omit the other 19 for the sake of not boring everyone to death, haha. This year wasn't a great one, coaster-wise, for me--I barely made it anywhere, compared to past years. Still, I did get to go to Kennywood and Hersheypark, both of which are fantastic parks. (Honorable mentions go to Hersheypark's woodies. They're fantastic rides, especially Comet and Lightning Racers. I've just got a thing for defunct ride manufacturers, apparently. [The Gravity Group excepted, of course.])

^KD's Grizzly must have been running pretty well this year, it seems like there has been a lot of comments on various sites about how people were surprised how much they enjoyed their rides on it this summer.

^ Actually, I only rode it last year, but I thought it was running pretty well regardless. Then again, I liked Hurler, so maybe I'm just weird.

Has anyone Ridden Wooden Warrior at Quassy? if not I highly recommend going out east and riding it!! it might be 35 feet tall but it packs a punch!

I really need to make it around and ride some more wooden roller coasters My list is so tiny for woodies.

So... My family, being awesome, surprised me with a last-minute Dollywood trip yesterday. Thunderhead definitely did something to my wooden coaster rankings (though I haven't totally decided yet what that something is... The back seat on Raven and that last night ride towards the front on Thunderhead are currently sparring it out in my head. ) Are we allowed to resubmit ballots?

The results are in! For the first time El Toro at Six Flags Great Adventure takes the #1 spot!
