Cedar Fair Featured on Jim Cramer's Mad Money

Featured Replies

Mad Money, with host Jim Cramer, featured a segment on Cedar Fair complete with an interview with incoming CEO Matt Ouimet:

Cramer was bullish on the stock due to the quickly rising dividend, refinanced debt, and new Disney alumni management.

In a terrible day for the market, FUN actually increased in share price, and Ouimet again suggested an appetite for acquisitions.

I actually watched this on CNBC but the stock is at one of its highest points in recent years and I think would actually be a bad buy.

Without speaking specifically to FUN, when looking at a stock or any investment, where it is relative to the past is just a data point. What is more important are the fundamentals behind a company and where the price is going.

It's also important to understand the type of investor you are - short term trader or long term holder as that can have a big impact on whether an investment is right for you.

Very cool segment, thanks for the post. I was getting that FUN was a good long term investment, but when it comes to stocks and shares I leave that to someone more educated about it than I.

When you buy or deal with any stock no matter what company it is, you will have risks. I think the biggest risk stock wise right now is sports teams. They will take one of the biggest hits money wise because of the players cost and a few other things. If the team is bad, then they risk being sold off.
