October 2, 201114 yr Was at Haunt on Friday night, and WindSeeker was down. I noticed that Drop Tower, which had been running earlier that night, appeared to be shut down as well. Wasn't sure if this was just coincidence, or is there a temperature or wind velocity at which they are closed?
October 2, 201114 yr As ironic as it may sound, WindSeeker is in fact shut down once wind speeds reach a certain threshold. It has been significantly windy the past few days, so I wouldn't put it past KI to temporarilly close both of those rides.
October 2, 201114 yr Caution: WindSeeker does not seek wind, like wind, or, in other words, operate in wind.
October 2, 201114 yr ^ But still does better than Funtime's version, which is the point in the first place. I'd be impressed if any ride* over 300ft. could operate well in the recent winds. Just because it's got an advantage in high winds doesn't mean it can operate in any wind speed. No design of that magnitude going to be that perfect. *I'm not counting the Eiffel Tower as a ride, even though it seems to operate just fine in high winds. It's an elevator.
October 2, 201114 yr Doesn't the Eiffel Tower elevator go into a "slow" mode when it's rainy or windy?
October 2, 201114 yr It is capable of such, and if it gets windy enough, the attraction is closed to guests.
October 2, 201114 yr Author What was weird is that there wasn't a lot of wind on Friday night...but I noticed all the "tower" type rides (WS, DT, and the Eiffel Tower) were shut down.
October 3, 201114 yr I was there today and they only allowed one person for every pair of seats. What causes this?
October 3, 201114 yr ^If there isn't enough people waiting in line to fill in all the seats, instead of waiting 10min per cycle to get 62 people on exactly they instead only let 31 on to balance the weight of the seats, so you don't have uneven weight distribution causing seats to collide.
October 3, 201114 yr ^Up north, they put two people per seat and load like such 1, 16, 2, 17, 3, 18...
October 3, 201114 yr ^Up north, they put two people per seat and load like such 1, 16, 2, 17, 3, 18... Yeah, I've been wondering about that since June. At Cedar Point, each pair of seats share a number from 1 to 32. At KI, every seat has its own number from 1-64. Why the difference?

But their was a decent amount of people in the queue...
