Unrealsk8ers Brickyard 400 PTR and Kroger 200 TR

So I was very hesitant to upload this PTR because I wasn't sure if people would take the time to read it because it's not park related. But I know a few of you are NASCAR fans so I decided to go for it.

So my friend Nate and I did not plan on attending this race we did however plan on going to the Nationwide race the night before. I only have a couple of pictures from the Nationwide race on my cell phone because I forgot to bring my memory card. So please excuse the bad quality!

So the Saturday of the Nationwide race we arrived at Lucas Oil Raceway around 2pm. We like to tailgate and we also like going through the discount tents to buy discount merchandise. To say the least I was already disappointed before the race even began. Why? Because this was supposed to be Travis Pastrana's debut race. He was trying to pull off a super weekend and do three events in the X games and come to Indy for the race. But in his first competition he ended up injuring himself pretty severely. So now I was rooting for Trevor Bayne. To be honest the first half of the race was pretty boring. No cations and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Led the first 150 laps. But after that it became quite interesting. This was probably one of my favorite races. With 15 to go Trevor blew his engine and was done for. =[ But in the last few laps Stenhouse was passed by Brad Kesolowski who ended up winning the race.

Pictures. Again sorry for bad quality.

By the way I'm a huge Jeff Gordon fan!

So after the race we headed back to my house to get some sleep. We woke up around 6am to get ready and we arrived at the track around 8. We still needed to buy our tickets so we just bought general admission tickets so we could sit on the mounds and watch. Most people call this race boring but this year I thought it was really exciting. Although I wish there had been just one more lap for Gordon to lock in on Menard!

Anyways on to some pics!

Nice report and nice photos. And I'm not sure why you're apologizing for the quality of the Nationwide race photos; they're plenty good enough for a forum. Looks like you had a great time. :)

You don't have to be a NASCAR fan to appreciate a good trip report. :)

Thanks for sharing...there are some nice photos there...it brings back some memories of when I used to go to the "Indy Car" time trials when I was younger.

Thanks guys! I'll post more PTRs like this in the future. Possibly one from the concert I'm going to this weekend.

Thanks for sharing your PTR - I watch most NASCAR races with my boys and took them to Kentucky this year. Sad that the Nationwide race is leaving Lucas Oil Speedway - looks like a fun track.
