Ride Warrior Extreme Meter

Featured Replies

I would say that Invertigo does belong above Vortex. Both have the same number of inversions, and Invertigo has the added feature of going backward for half of them. Whether it belongs above FoF or not is a matter open to debate; I personally would not put it above FoF, but I could easily see someone making a reasonable argument as to why it should.

My Personal Rankings, from most intense to least intense:

#1-Vortex

#2-Invertigo

#3-Firehawk

#4-Drop Tower

#5-The Beast

#6-Flight of Fear

#7-Diamondback

#8-Delirium

#9-The Racer

#10-WindSeeker (have not ridden, this is an estimate)

Kings Island, get over the fact that Diamondback is NOT your MEANEST coaster, in either intensity or roughness...it has no loops, is very smooth, and while it's great fun (my 2nd favorite ride in the park) it is not THAT intense.

BTW, while I've never ridden it, if Son of Beast was open...it's #1, hands down, simply for its sheer size, speed, and...roughness. It indeed seems very extreme.

It's a glass made by a marketing person who's probably never ridden any of the listed rides. I wouldn't give it too much thought.

I will say, Invertigo is the only coaster I ever actually got sick on lol, not like throwing up sick, but nauseous. It was the whole going backwards part. Now I dont, but the first time I rode it in 2001 I did! lol. Yay me and my weak stomach!

Most to least

1. D-Back

2. The Beast

3. Firehawk

4. Drop Tower

5. Flight of Fear

6. Invertigo

7. Vortex

8. Delirium

9. WindSeeker

10. The Racers

P.S. Does anyone else find it funny that Drop Tower is 3 and it has a 4 out of 5 on the thrill scale.

11. Linus' Launcher

12. Dinosaurs Alive!

13. The Crypt

14. Snoopy Surf Dog

^ In all fairness, that 1-5 scale isn't necessarily an indication of how thrilling a ride is. It's a safety scale that's determined by the forces experienced on a ride, and the change in elevation / direction and whether it's expected or unexpected. The Crypt, for example, is a 5. May be a relatively tame ride, but you do experience many unexpected forces and rapid changes in direction and orientation. Apparently, according to Cedar Fair's standards, Drop Zone's experience is a little less intense...
