April 5, 200422 yr Well, something caught my eye on my way to Beast Saturday, but forgot to post it until I looked at the pic of the new Beast signs. Beast has always been known to have 4 tunnels, but on the sign with ride stats, it has it listed as 3 tunnels. Does anyone have any thoughts about why they group the helix tunnels as one now?
April 5, 200422 yr The Beast had 4,but the second tunnel during the ride was forged together to form 1
April 5, 200422 yr I am assuming that they are counting the helix as one tunnel because it is the same tunnel. As for the merging of the tunnels... I have no clue.
April 5, 200422 yr What tunnels were merged? The first is after the lift, the second is that cement tunnel then the third is the helix tunnel. -Jake
April 5, 200422 yr the helix tunnel is the one they are talking about that has merged. since, its one structure, but has two levels to it. hence, how it could be 1 or 2 tunnels
April 6, 200422 yr Author I just remember them counting the helix tunnel twice. I am wondering what caused them to change the number to three this year.
April 6, 200422 yr Does it seem that the concrete tunnel after the first underground tunnel have a wooden portion in the middle of it? Could that be what there talking about?
April 6, 200422 yr Author That was originally two tunnels, but that was combined. I remember them counting 4 tunnels in recent PKI history though, after the connection of the two tunnels.
April 6, 200422 yr Speaking of The Beast and it's tunnels, how far do your fingers come from the tunnel when you put your hands up on the helix? Just a thought. chop...
April 6, 200422 yr B.C. I told them too, and that is all that really matters!! ~Tiny~ Yeah, because Tiny is secretly the head honcho of all Paramount Parks. Shhh!
April 6, 200422 yr I always end up swaying my arms to the left or right, I've already forgotten where the larger gap is. But you still gotta put your hands up for that ride.
