August 2, 201115 yr Looks interesting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufRbnqifrqE&feature=player_embedded http://www.hersheypa..._2012/index.php The trains look like Diamondbacks to me, but this is an Intamin AG, not a B&M Skyrush Fact Sheet DESIGN FEATURES Manufacturer IntaminAG Ride Supplier IntaRide LLC, USA Model Mega/hypercoaster with winged seating SeatDetails Cantilevergeometry Four seats per car (two floored, two floorless) Floorless outer seats are winged Outer seats offer a 270-degree panoramic view Structure Steeltrack Maximum Height 200 feet Elements 50-degreeascent 85-degree descent Fourhigh-speed/high-banked curves Fiveairtime hills Lift Speed 26feet per second Maximum Speed 75mph (+/-) Track Length Nearly3,600 feet ColorScheme Lightblue columns Yellowtrack Deepblue trains with yellow accents Braking System Magneticbraking system CAPACITY AND RIDE TIME Numberof Trains 2 Capacityper Train 32riders ApproximateRide Time 63seconds TheoreticalRide Capacity 1,350riders per hour COST ProjectedCost $25million (estimated)
August 2, 201115 yr Interesting... seating like DB, but the even numbered rows are floorless... I'm up for another trip there. It's a nice park and after all, I've been there twice already and have yet to ride Fahrenheit! Doin' anything Easter weekend next year, Dave?
August 2, 201115 yr I can't wait to see how this turns out. And I find it funny how the logo for the ride looks the same as Darien Lake's logo.
August 2, 201115 yr Author Gary, I would not hold my breath that this will be open Easter Weekend. Titan, good catch, it does look a lot like that.
August 2, 201115 yr Gary, I would not hold my breath that this will be open Easter Weekend. I wouldn't either. I was going to add "not that I think it will be open by then" but forgot to type that before I moved on to the next topic.
August 3, 201115 yr I really, really hope that Intamin somehow tops Bizarro and El Toro. That is a TALL order, but I can always hope.
August 3, 201115 yr THis has a ton of potential. I tired to imagine the forces as we always do and if they pan out, this will be an awesome ride. It should feel a lot like I305 and Maverick but the train and seating is such a cool addition... I hope I was really hoping for a Giga but... I305 really doesn't need to be that tall... Did I really just say that?
August 3, 201115 yr What I don't understand is, how can these trains be the first in the country, but they are just like Diamondback trains? Is Ohio a new country know?
August 3, 201115 yr I see, thanks for the information Terpy. I did not realize that theirs were floorless.
August 3, 201115 yr This new coaster will definitely get me visiting Hershey next year. I wanted to go with the already impressive line up of coasters they had before this, and SkyRush just seals the deal.
