July 6, 201313 yr The current bumper cars did NOT originate from Coney Island. When Coney Mall was refurbished in the 80's, the original bumper cars brought from Coney Island left and were replaced with brand new cars.
July 6, 201313 yr some of the kiddie rides are back at Coney. The flinstone flyers (sorry, dunno what they were) are there painted red and orange and yellow. Must be the same ones?

Saying "the bumper cars" could get confused pretty easily. And ^no, Shake, Rattle & Roll was not brought from Coney Island.
July 6, 201313 yr Did the Shake, Rattle and Roll come from there too? No. It did not. It was new in 1975.
July 12, 201313 yr KI's Tumlebug was, by all accounts, scrapped. They are now very rare. That's why I was so excited to ride a full size Tumblebug (Turtle) at Kennywood last year. I hadn't ridden one since Ki got rid of theirs. I've squeezed onto Sticker's Grove's Kiddie Turtles a few times, but it's not the same. And then there's the nearly extinct ride found nowhere else today, Kangaroo. Now that was a fun flat ride!
July 12, 201313 yr Kangaroo was at lesourdsville great ride also known as flying coaster at the time . Coney could use some more flats , but over all since Hamilton co only has 2 wooden coasters left coney building one would be great!

July 12, 201313 yr From the Stricker's Grove website: " It is also home to the Tornado and Teddy Bear roller coasters that are the only two wooden coasters in Hamilton County." A look at the map confirms it is in Hamilton County, although it has a Hamilton (Butler County) postal code.
July 16, 201313 yr Yeah, That is one weird anomaly with Stricker`s Grove. I would absolutely love if Coney got a pair of Flying Eagles as a new ride. I`m not sure what is in store in the future for Coney, but I do know that one ride maybe on its way out to be replaced by another ride. I will be going to Kennywood in August for my first visit there. I am really looking forward to it!
July 18, 201313 yr I never have figured out why it has a Butler County postal code when it's in Hamilton County. I guess Hamilton is the nearest incorporated town, though you'd think Fairfield would be closer.
July 19, 201313 yr There is a post office in Ross, which is within Butler County, and is the nearest post office. Stricker's Grove is located just inside of Hamilton County, but Ross is the given mailing address, even though it is outside of the actual designated boundaries of Ross.
July 19, 201313 yr Anyone know where the Bumper Cars that Jungle Jim's uses as candy stands came from originaly?
August 6, 201313 yr There are some things that are in the works. I haven`t heard anything definitive yet.
August 8, 201313 yr Several years ago, I went to the administration office and talked to a really nice guy who said that they had been bouncing the idea of a rollercoaster or water ride...who knows maybe something is in the plans. Coney hasn't had a major attraction, outside of the new water slides, for a few years.
August 17, 201313 yr Maybe part coaster/part dark ride/ part water ride would do also. I think its time for a major ride:
August 20, 201312 yr A floodwall! Prohibitively expensive. So, the park in essence attempts to floodproof rides, buildings and attractions.
August 22, 201312 yr Yep. Most of the electrical panels for the rides are removed at the end of the season and moved to higher ground (the second floor of Moonlite Gardens or the warehouse above the games building). For example, the carousel horses are stored on the second floor of Moonlite in the off season. There is something coming to Coney next season. It is coming at the expense of a ride that has not operated all season this year though... It will be an exciting ride.
August 28, 201312 yr Hate to see classic rides going (especially if it's the one I'm thinking of), but a new ride should be interesting either way. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 4
August 28, 201312 yr It will certainly be interesting. Although it will be a low capacity attraction. But a low capacity attraction is better than a ride sitting closed all season.
August 28, 201312 yr Most of the attractions at Coney are low-capacity anyway (with the exception of the Round-Up and maybe Flying Bobs or Tilt-a-Whirl).
